Thanks for this video! I got a shiny Fwooper and Jabberknoll yesterday without realizing it was a thing. Just saw them in between leveling up with battles. I'm on a hunt for the rest. For me it's prolonging the game- I'm 97% done and though it's been a lot of playing hours, I'm a bit disappointed I've almost finished.

Not sure if it's the same for every game, but in Cragcroftshire at the bottom of the map on the little island, there's a Niffler den that always spawns 4-5 shiny Nifflers for me every time I visit!

Solid tips! Also, you might notice most of the shiny beasts in the game are white or off-white, like they're albino. This is because that's exactly what the game actually calls them. There are sidequests where you can go and catch special instances of the beasts, and the Diricawl one "Birds Of A Feather" is for a "shiny" one named Gwyneira. The quest giver describes her as albino. [EDIT: Since this comment I’ve been corrected, Gwyneira doesn’t have the shiny symbol. She does look remarkably like a shiny Diricawl does, so perhaps they’re still meant to be albino, but that quest doesn’t make it as conclusive as I thought.]

@@Krowphay Yeah, that diricawl and Biscuit the mooncalf both have separate colors from the usual beasts just because they’re quest related. Same with Caligo, the hippogriff. Shiny Hippos are black, yet Caligo doesn’t get the shiny emblem, even tho he is in fact (by game standards) shiny.

@@ShowTime03 There is a Hazel the Unicorn as well, quest giver is in Hogsmeade. Her coat is a brighter white than other unicorns, but she also gets no shiny symbol (Makes more sense in this case as shiny unicorns are golden lol)

You can also get shinys by breeding too. I'm sure the odds of that are way lower then finding them in the wild but the first time I bred Highwing to Caligo (only male Hip I have) I actully got a shiny Hip baby and its so cute. I was also compleatly shocked at this because the odds of me breeding and getting one. I just make a joke saying that I should have gotten the gray Hip since Highwing is white and Caligo is black. (I really wish I could add a pic to this bc I feel like no one will belive this)

Shinny mooncalf imo is the best BUT funny is that I kinda find nonshinny much better looking in most species since shinies are mostly white while having a very color rich animals is really nice. Also, I spent 2 minutes trying to spot a shinny Niffler on a coast before finding the summon feature.

I didn't know story mode made capturing beast super easy, I have just been hitting everything with leviosa twice before bagging them, using disillusionment to get close enough, the second leviosa lifts them higher and gives you enough time to catch even Unicorns.

If you're playing on PC, there is a mod that auto-picks all your locks which seems to be way more realistic with the spell. I don't think that Wizards need to actually pick locks after casting Alohomora.

afaik shinies sell for the same money, or do you have some other info on that since you said to farm the shiny mooncalf den for money? also you dont have to load, you can also restart from last save, which is less clicks, also its best to use the buttons for map and settings when playing on pc, which are by default M and P and not use the menu, as again, it saves click.

Pro tip: Just capture it, fly to nearest floo flame and wait. It will spawn a new Graphorn every time since you captured the previous one. (200+ yards away from den spawn works best to garauntee it spawns back after waiting.) I usually go to the Ashwinder Ruin near by the ridge you were at in the video. So much faster than saving and loading back in. You can sell the non-shiny for gold so it's not a waste to capture them and a good way to make easy galleons if needed. I got both male and female shiny in about 40 tries, which only took a little over an hour with this method.

Just so you know, with breeding, any newborn has a chance of being shiny regardless of parent's shiny status. Two non shiny can birth a shiny and two shiny can birth a non shiny. Still cool you have both male and female shiny so good for you :)

A lot of bullshit at the start, but the reset technic is smart, and you can easely reconise a female graphorn from a male, the horns are differents, longer and pointing at the back for a male, smaller and pointing to the sides for a female (not to mention Lord of the River, or else, don't remember his name in english, who's the only one with this type of horns, teeth and face in general, he is the one you can find and mount in the quest, the one who unlock the graphorns [graphorns are locked until you win him] and you obviously cannoy have him in shiny, like the phoenix)

You do know beast prices (shiny or not) are all the same. 120 each. So you can literally just farm puffleskeins instead literally right outside hogsmeade

I actually found all of my shine he's pretty fast. The hardest one low was the shiny Threstral. Took me two days to get 1 to spawn. I'm currently writing this minutes after I got one. Next is Diricawl. That should be it until I can get the Graphorn. I don't do the waiting thing at all. I have to go to the den capture all of them. Fast travel away but keep reasonably close by. Rinse repeat. I think my favorite shiny is got to be the Shiny Unicorn. I got that on my fifth trying. I like it because it's gold and not gray or white. It's an almost completely different color.

@@djrosette That one was the easiest. I ended up having to chase all around the forest having to fight spider and other wizards to get it. Doesn't matter does literally the next day after I wrote my comment. For some reason my Xbox giving me notifications about having 2 saves one in the cloud and on my Xbox. After about a week of getting that notification I got sick of it so I picked one. I chose the cloud because it doesn't make any sense for it to be saved on my console anyway cuz that's what I got a drive for. When I chose the cloud it reverted my game by at least 35 hours. Is there any progress I made in that time had regressed as well. Lost all my shinies I got in that time spells, missions I progressed on. The only shiny I had left was the unicorn thankfully. But the most infuriating part about it was that all the achievements I got in that time we're still on my Xbox. So my Xbox still remembers what I did in that time. Fucking infuriating. Haven't played it since. To bad cuz I was really really enjoying the game.

Though I'm probably either do like you did ie go all around the forest and fight wizards (which I don't mind fighting wizards since I'm also working on my dueling challenges) or go around the map collecting field pages then returning to the unicorn den. I got a shiny kneezle the other day and I don't want to lose it. PS I tried the wait, save, and reload method multiple times but it still hasn't worked in getting other shinies to appear. So I'm stick with either the capture then go far away and return or the just go far away and unlock more floo flames/collect statues then return methods depending on the dens 😅

I didn't know you actually have to fight the Knaphorn in order to then be able to capture it. I thought you were supposed to do the _opposite_ of fighting them. I tried waiting them out first, but that clearly didn't work, and I just couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do to get them to leave hostile mode (I was thinking along the lines of what we did with the hippogrif that Deek first takes us to; remember, we had to bow to show respect).......Now I know what to do. Hardest shiny to find top three in order of shortest to longest, Female Shiny Graphorn (got 4 males before), Female Shiny Unicorn (3 males 2 in a row before I got a female), and the toughest to find was a Male Shiny Fwooper it took hours and I found 6 females before I got a male to spawn. Also I found the shiny moon calf nest by accident, and a shiny kneazle nest in cragcroft shire.

Depends on your luck, its 50/50 to get a male or female - Graphorn for sure is hardest, then Unicorn then Hippo etc

For beast that only spawn in one, you can skip time, save n load and if what spawns isnt shiny, you can go back n load the manual save, there will be a new spawn again. You can do this for any amount of them but usually i only do it for groups of 1 or 2 cus for those im usually only trying to get the shiny.

You don't actually need to wait over and over again. Just wait once, save, then reload. If its not shiny, just reload the save to reroll the spawns

There aren't Gold beasts, just some Shiny ones that assume the golden color. Some beasts may have a slightly golden tone to then in some of their normal color variations aswell but thats ordinary.

Imo there should be a option to swich your mounts from default to caught ones, i get i would kinda ruin the preorder bonus, but for real it feels like it should be an option, and its kinda the biggest reason for serching for shiny variants apart from seling, hopefully someone will fix it with a mod

They missed opportunities with shiny beasts. Theres no reason to hunt them, they dont have more value, they have the same materials, and you can only have a limited number of beasts. If they produced special materials that upgraded your gear further, or sold for more, or even had an achievement or quest related to collecting a shiny of each beast; it would have made it more engaging rather than empty feeling. Especially since once you buy each pot and and potions table Theres literally no reason to make money and once your gear is upgraded theres no reason to visit your beasts

Hi @Dustin Berman ! :D So... I would like to start by giving a practical example with a franchise that we all know and adapts perfectly to this situation, POKEMON! The spawn rate of shiny pokemons in this wonderful game is extremely lower than in Hogwarts Legacy! All Shiny hunters (let's face it, there are many based on the content we see on the internet) lose hours, days, weeks to capture their shinys and they capture their pets by: . have higher base stats? (shiny pokemons dont have higher base stats) . give a good reward or a really good trade? (shiny pokemons dont give you rewards and no trade NPC recognizes a shiny) . have rare or unique moves? (shiny pokemons dont have rare or unique moves) . complete shiny pokedex? (there is no shiny pokedex in the game) Now, we're at the point I want to get to... No player will want a shiny to receive something in return, but simply because they have it and show that they have something rare in the game! I believe this is the real reason that captivates players to have these beauties! LOVE!

My very first time going and seeing a group of "tamable creatures" was those fluffy cats. I immediately noticed one with a "Shiny like symbol." But seeing how it was my first time outside the castle.... I couldn't tame anything. ..... yeah. I found that trying to "Wait, save, load" always produced the exact same Graphorn if you didn't battle it, but I found a way to completely cheese the fight. When he's on that ledge, do you see the ledge to the upper right. As long as you don't go to the edge of it, you can just spam basic cast and red spells and it will just stand there Roaring at you till it's defeated. Then hope down and catch it. I've done it successfully on three of my playthroughs, and have even posted a video of it on my channel.

Wait Save Load will definitely randomize the next spawn, while you have the chance the same color/gender variation spawns a couple times in a row. Fighting it will take a while so I definitely recommend just reloading as it literally takes a couple seconds to reset them ^^

@@insertclevernamehere1186 So you wasted a minute every time is what you're saying. Sounds like a giant waste of time if you're grinding for a breeding pair of shinies. Wait -> Save - > Reload last save definitely randomizes the spawn, even if you're standing so you're looking directly at the animal as you spawn in. I spent 4 minutes there, probably 20 or so resets, got 4 shinies.

I’m playing on ps5, the “shinies” are the ones with a white star next to their name correct? I get the same price, 120 g for them as I get for all the beasts regardless of colour or species! Currently I have bred 3 shiny mooncalves, 1 shiny jobberknoll and a shiny Hippogriff, all gave the same price of 120 g. So my query is, what is the benefit of farming shinies apart from the fact that they are all white?

I have been trying to get a darn shinny fwooper for at least 2hr now, using this method and no luck. Got a golden unicorn with pretty much no effort but a lousy fwooper seems impossible to get 🤬

I got 2 shiny male graphorns but I've been wanting a shiny female to mate with lord of the shore but now I want at least 2 shiny female to mate with the other shiny to make a shiny baby lol. I hope that's how it works? I got a shiny baby hippogriff by mating highwing with Caligo

I came here just to see if I was crazy or if shinies were just easy to find. I’m late to the Hogwarts game, but have had a super easy time finding them. I’ve got shinies of every beast possible and got most of them on the first or second try. 😅

There’s also a kneazle den up at the northern part of poidsear coast. It has a guaranteed all shinies.

Instead of all that just stand a little way away from, for example, the graphorn, drop a save then just fly in. If it’s not shiny, just reload and fly in again. No need for opening the map-time skip- save game - load game. Easier and more efficient.
