Exactly what I needed...now I know how powerful this device is! I only have one question. Could you point out the benefits of the m4l version of stepic. I work in Ableton and bought the VST version. Maybe I miss something if I only work with the VST?
@devicemeister
@devicemeister Жыл бұрын
If you have the Live Suite and Max-for-Live, then the M4L version of Stepic is the way to go. As a MIDI effect, it can be loaded on the same track as your synth plugin or hardware device. Moreover, with the M4L version, you can directly automate all Live stock devices, such as Wavetable, Operator, and all other Live plugins. I saw that you sent us an email, and I've already responded to it. We'll find a solution for your license.👍

Thanks a lot for your tutorials! What if I would like to export Midi data for pattern 1, 3, 4 and 5 at the same time (as you have programmed it). Is this possible?
@devicemeister
@devicemeister 10 ай бұрын
Hi, with Stepic, you can only export the current/active pattern via drag & drop. If you want to export multiple patterns, select them and then do the drag & drop export. After that, you can assemble the MIDI in the arrangement of your DAW as you wish.
@bahramshamloo
@bahramshamloo 11 ай бұрын
Tanks👍. I use several patterns in LOGIC but every time I replay the project, the Stepic doesn't go to the first pattern and continues on the last pattern where it stopped. How can you start from the first pattern every time?
@devicemeister
@devicemeister 11 ай бұрын
With Stepic, you can't set it to start at a specific pattern every time the transport starts. However, you can use MIDI notes from the DAW to control Stepic to jump to any pattern at certain points in the arrangement or MIDI clips. This allows you to realize a song mode with Stepic. Use the MIDI mapping function for this. Part 5 of this tutorial describes the function.

Hi, are you feeding one instance of Stepic into another? Please try to describe more precisely what you're aiming to achieve. I'm happy to help. You can also send us screenshots via email. That often helps a lot in understanding what a user wants to achieve.

Two questions: Logic Pro In standard 4/4 time, Stepic always starts on the second beat. Why? Ableton Live 11 If we have a song that starts with the first pattern of 5 Stepic patterns, for example, if I stop the song at the third pattern and go back to the beginning of the song, Stepic continues from the third pattern. Shouldn't it return to the first starting pattern? Thanks
@devicemeister
@devicemeister Жыл бұрын
Re 1: Hard to say from a distance. Please send us an email. We can then discuss the problem together and find a solution for it. Re. 2: Stepic doesn't have a built-in song mode. If you stop and restart the DAW, Stepic plays from the pattern where it currently stands. However, you can easily implement a song mode by either automating Stepic's pattern parameter via DAW automation or triggering pattern changes via MIDI notes and placing corresponding notes in your arrangement. This even works on a clip level. If you have further questions about this, I also offer you to send us an email. There I provide you with screenshots and more detailed guidance.

Please forgive me for speaking out of turn, so to speak, as I don’t yet have this plugin, but I think to help with your issue, maybe consider dragging and dropping each sequence to where you want it in the timeline instead of depending on the plugin to change the way you want. 🎹♥️

@devicemeister
@devicemeister Ай бұрын
Currently, Stepic doesn't offer preset function. Depending on your DAW, you can use its preset feature to save and recall Stepic's state. Implementing a preset function is high on the priority list. It's quite possible that this feature will be added to Stepic soon.

@@devicemeister Thanks for the update. I'm loving Stepic in my workflow, I've tested a few MIDI sequencer/generator plugins, and Stepic is certainly the best step sequencer style plugin I've used. The workflow is very quick and intuitive and the cost is reasonable. A preset function would be an awesome addition. Mainly for backing up patches and user created preset packs. Do you have a timeframe for when a preset function will be added to Stepic?

Also nicht mehrere Samples gleichzeitig. Vielen Dank.

it's possible to do something similar if you randomize both the notes and octave rows. you can use all 12 notes in the Chromatic scale, plus 2 octaves above and below.
