The Terava Skrama, Dark Timber Kodiak, Esee Junglas, and Becker Bk20.
Possibly 4 of the greatest grail knives for preppers and survivalists alike. These 4 blades are very similar on paper, but each one has a completely unique personality.
Who will reign supreme chopping, batoning, and doing fine work?
Ultimately, that will be up to you to decide.

Did you buy that Dark Timber or did ya get it free? They are beautiful knives but over $300 No FREAKING way, esp when you can get those Verustalika knives for $69. Yes its America and I have no problem with folks who spend big money on their toys but as a tool Ontario,Becker, Kbar and others work just fine for a fraction of the price.

Airik1111 i am actually borrowing it from a very good friend. The Dark Timber is a bit spendy, but if you look at the steel and process that goes into it, its actually the most affordable thing like it on that market. That whole higher end market really gets funky, but the Dark timbers offer legit cpm3v performance in small batches, likely at the lowest cost that they can afford. I plan on releasing my own line of knives, and idk that i will be able to do so well on cost, although i want it to be as cheap as possible. Its hard. Anyways, as far as other knives doing just as well, yes and no, for the price. For something like this, chopping, batoning, the things that i will be doing, your right. But the toughness and corrosion resistance of 3v really is above and beyond for those times when stuff gets a littld gnarly, and the quality and pride of ownership is certainly there regardless. (People pay more for similar knives of normal, simple steels) Everything is relative. Im not saying that the dark timber is cheap, or expensive, worth it, or not. It depends on the person, what they need it for, and what they can afford :-)

Airik1111 anyone find it funny that the things designed by other knife makers are cheaper than the other knives the company makes? Dark timber midtechs destroy with cost/value cpm3v wise. And Chris's jx5 is the most affordable chopper brkt has. WTF

Awesome vid. Too bad no boom boom. Just a side note, Becker has the moses bowie out now. Almost identical to the BK20 except it has a clip point. I have one a d can say it performs just as well as the BK20.

ThePreppersBunkerOutdoors I'm not sure if its special edition or not. As far as I know it's sold as a package set. Come with the Moses Bowie aka BK29. The BK5 and a small knife called the snake charmer. It's still for sale on Kbar website. 200.00 for all 3 knives. I actually sent you the extra BK5 from that set in trade if inrecall correctly. I had two BK5 already lol. Here is link if anyone is wandering. www.kabar.com/knives/detail/286

ThePreppersBunkerOutdoors also... as far as the BK20 vs BK29. I have both here and have used both. In my humble non expert opinion I get roughly the same performance from both. Altho I've not used the bk29 to the extent I have both if my bk20s. It seems to get r done. On looks however I do like the look of the shorter blunt tipped bk20 more but thats only because I'm not a huge fan of clip point blades. Abasloutly nothing wrong with them they do the job I just like the look of the BK20 over the BK29.

Looking Forward to the video man. Its a bummer about the liberal stance of youtube. Someone really needs to establish a video haven like has been started with Full30. Schrade really screwed the pooch by messing with the design of the original JESS-X. I don't know the best way to contact you privately, but If you would like to have a JX5 Vengeful-1 to test along side these get back to me. I think it would be fun to see it go head to head against these other blades.

Say Heah Jacob, Yeah, if you like that Ka-Bar BK-20 Bundok Bowie, I know you would like the BK-29 Moses Bowie too, It's a bit shorter by I think a 1/4" but more of a clip point, Yup, I got both. Infact now I also have (3) BK-5's too because I already had tge BK-5 before they added them with the Limited Edition and the BK-29 I did get extra other too like the BK-4 and tge Snody SnakeCharmer. with buying the Bowies, No complaints, I really like my BK-5 as much as I like my BK-7. It's a very good traling point knife, and it's lite in hand, and strong. Infact I teamed it with one of my BK-4's. You did good. Dilly, Dilly.,,.p

Ok, I didn't know if it would be a viable alternative for those that could not afford the more expensive knives. The Lord has blessed us well and which allowed me to buy the Esee knife you recommended, but I know others haven't been as fortunate and thought that might be a reasonable alternative.

Too bad about Tanner's knife. I have the original and love it. I bought it after I watched some of your original vids on it. I would have liked to see how it did against those brutes. You're going to have to suck it up and do Patreon, amigo, if you want dough. Just do it and we'll all kick in a bit.
