This is class! With the issue with the words of different length, when you are animating the opacity between words, you could also animate the tracking of the letters on both words, making the short word subtly space wider and have the long word really bunched up initially and then easing into its normal length. Such a wicked effect though Ben, keep up the wizardry!

No wonder why you label this "Ultimate ...". This is much better than using traditional text morphing techniques. The best part is the flexibility to replace any text. Re-usable and very convenient. Thank you very much.

I hope you'll be making a fully beginner-friendly course to Motion Design in the future, I've checked your course and it looks amazing but it felt like it was advanced for me. I think my level is a bit intermediate with AE but I really want to learn motion design as a career and I want to start from the absolute basics. Thank you so much for the fantastic content!

Try Video Co-pilots Basic Training. It's free and although it's not motion design oriented it will familiarise yourself with After Effects in general. Also The course Ben is running seems like they would help you but I'm not sure.

Wow. This technique is very cool. All these tools were available many years ago, but there were no such tutorials. This can be used not only with text, but with many different things.

This is an amazing tutorial not only does he provide us with very very well explained steps on how to create this effect he also gives the link to the ae. file to download. Seriously this guy is briliant and not enough people give credit. Seriosuly the amount of tutorials that waste my time are shocking. seriously man this is amazing big cheers!

When I add a background to my composition, the effect does not work anymore. I dont get sharp edges but the effect goes back to easing in and out of juste the opacity and gaussian blur of my layers. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you so much for this tutorial nonetheless ! It really is enlightening !

Wowww, just wowwww! Have I used before Gaussian blur levels, turbulent displace - yes, have I ever tried to combine them to create a morph effect - Of course not. Thats what is amazing about AE, you can combine 2 effects in a totally different way for a completely different effect. Thank you Ben always a pleasure to watch your videos.

So about the problem with words that are not of similar length i found a solution! i just unlink the scale of the word getting morphed so you can scale on one axis and then animate the scale with the same keyframes you did with the blur by expanding the shorter words scale horizontally so it matches the next words and vice versa for the longer words. It worked for me! maybe you will have to play with the opacity a bit but for me it was perfect.
