These Esbit stoves are not necessarily WW2. They are still made and are very available! Are were made for Esbit fuel tabs or you can use Heximine tads. You can use Trangia alcohol stoves or copies of them with this stove by turning it upside down as you have done in video. There a great deal of reviews and videos on the many ways this stove can be used. You may want to educate yourself on the many uses of the Esbit stove. ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam

Esbit made stoves for German WW2 troops. They still make many sizes of stoves today, from pocket to bbq sized. Plus, cooking sets. British troops had "Tommy cookers", tins filled with alcohol gel (sterno) with a ring that went on top to hold cup above flame to heat their tea. Several styles today use the same way to heat drink or food. Why don't you use stove right side up, so you won't have to move it to place lid on to snuff flame?

Also, those Esbit stoves can store several fuel tabs.

It’s a nice pouch, however the older pouch simply modified to have a shoulder carry strap and a pouch sewn on the front of it is still the best.

Does that pouch fit the pathfinder cup aswell? From their canteen and cup set.
