Those are Texas Longhorn cattle, and yes their horns are massive. Joe T Garcia's mexican restaurant nearby is also a must. Other things to do nearby: Fort Worth zoo, botanical gardens, biking along Trinity River, the US Mint (There are only 2 places in the US where paper money is printed: Washington DC and Fort Worth, TX- and the tours are worth the trouble). There are plenty of sport venues, shopping, concerts, restaurants, and museums in the DFW (Dallas -Fort Worth) area. Also Glen Rose has Dinosaur Valley state park where you can see a couple of dinosaur footprints in the riverbed. Enjoy the laidback friendly culture!
@UltimateBucketList2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're absolutely right. There's really a lot to do in the DFW area, and I made a few of videos on it ... (four I think?) ... but there's so much more. Thanks for the tips!

Some of my family and I have lived in fort worth for generations. We pass by the stockyards daily from down town all the way through main st and 28th st. Back in the 90s lowriders ,hot rods and motorcycles would cruise bumper to bumper on Saturday nights. It was raw,live and wild it was our blvd like the way east LA still does it till this day. Watching the stockyards through outsiders perspectives makes me appreciate where I live a little more . Especially now that Yellowstone is being filmed at this moment its really cool to watch from the side lines.

@@Deemcgee100 Fort Worth is the 12th largest city in America. But it’s interesting that is has a little city feel to it
@Deemcgee10011 ай бұрын
@@VahidMusictx I guess my “little city” is referring to that central business district and other close rings you may see in an urban planning infographic. I have lived in SF and a few cities on the eastern sea board like New York and Boston so my bar is high for “big city”. And Texas is just so spread out. I love that Fort Worth is growing and poised to develop further! The stockyard revitalization has looked great so far and will probably continue. I think a real game changer would be panther island if that ever comes to fruition. Cheers 🍻

Great video! The daily cattle drives represent when cattle would be driven from Texas to Oklahoma/Kansas/Missouri for sale. There are cattle drive trails that are now very busy roads in Texas, like 289 aka Preston Road which ends (on the north) at the Texas/Oklahoma border in the town of Preston where the cattle would cross the Red River. Texas history is very interesting!
@UltimateBucketList2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, it's a pretty cool thing to see and learn about the history of it. Whilst it may seem like a normal occurrence in Texas, I've never seen anything like that before. Ironically, I was born (and still reside) in the English city of Preston!
@chocojavachip2 жыл бұрын
@@UltimateBucketList wow! Yes, how Ironic! 😃 Yes, cattle drives are not common but I hear of a very few still happening when cattle owners move their cattle from one piece of land to another for them to graze on. The Ft Worth Stockyards Cattle Drive is definitely “for show” but a great opportunity to see Texas Longhorn cattle up close. I think they must be pretty old as they barely move along and I guess they aren’t too worried about them charging into the crowd. I’ve never heard of that happening there. I bet that was interesting to ride one!
