Besides, if we're going by the suggestions that Broly is on par with SPCell, or USSJ Trunks, that's also another indication. Cell himself said that USSJ was, in fact, more powerful than he was (before SP form), but its speed was what made it possible to defeat. Broly clearly has no speed encumberance when he was able to effortlessly catch up with the "faster" forms of the Z Fighters.

The only person Broly is shown toying with is Goku to make him suffer as he suffered. Everyone else, he was out for blood on. He destroyed entire solar systems in a blind rage just for fun and kills his own father the instant he notices him trying to escape. Also, Gohan took so long, because he was afraid his energy blast could destroy earth when he killed Cell. Broly has no such fear, he could easily summon enough power to do so.
