I like the light, but the UI, especially the lock-out aspect, is deceptively poorly documented, unnecessarily complex, and just basically a complete PITA to use. Why not just a lock-out button? Just a simple physical button, please??!

I don’t remember how well it was explained in the manual but activating both lockout modes are done the same way and are pretty simple… While the light is on (in any constant mode), fully press down and hold the protruding power/mode cycle button, that’s it. The light will turn off and flash once (indicating half lock), you can let go as soon as the light turns off, the process takes 2 seconds. For full lockout, just continue holding the power/mode button (past half lock) and within 1.5 seconds it will flash twice, indicating full lockout. You can let go anytime after seeing another flash beyond half lockout. ie. the first of two flashes for Full Lockout. The entire process, from the moment you decide to lock takes about 3.5 seconds. Unlocking from half and full lockout are also both done the same way. You can “Double Tap” anything, so long as the second tap is the power/mode button and it’s held. Whether buttons are half or fully depressed doesn’t matter when unlocking. The first tap can even be from the “Turbo/Strobe” button. Ie Unlock can be 2 half presses, 2 full presses, 1 half/1 full or 1 full 1 half so long as the power button is held for the 2nd tap. After the power button is held on the 2nd tap the blue power lights will begin climbing from 1 light to 4, after which the light will unlock and turn on. If anything the unlock procedure may be too easy for an accidental activation. You can mash the buttons as many times as you want but if it ends in any combination of “double click+hold” it will unlock.
