Columbia Trailstorm Ascend Mid were waterproof for 2 days of working in light rain. A month later and I feel water go straight to my toes like I'm barefoot. They're very comfortable but it should be illegal to call something waterproof now a days.

@@partypat2151 Columbia fairbanks, very light and comfortable. if temperature is -10 celsius, you dont need any extra socks. one down side, is that top of the shoe is open, so if you dont put trousers over shoe, snow will fall in to the shoe (if there is a lot of snow), overall I am happy :) in my country, at winter , temperatures are around 0 to -10 celsius so perfect fit.

I bought this model because of waterproof, but when weather was rainy and boots feels like swimming pool. Anyway, later I gave boots to our apartment gatekeeper, so quess what happened?? When I meet him after this and Iasked how was boots, he said: "The boots were leaking rain and smelled so bad I had to throw them away," he said. :/

When I was a total rich bitch a hostelling, I purchased your top of the line snow boots guaranteed to withstand minus Fahrenheit conditions. The boots could not breathe although they looked sharp. I Hiked one day across the Charles River Bridge from Back Bay to MIT to crash a virtual particle graduate thesis promoted as open to the public as I became desperate to unlace the pink white and gray boots. It turned out only about 3 people attended-Frank Wilzek, the trembling graduate candidate's wife and the famous physicist panel. As my Boston blizzard boots remained dry on the outside, the interior drowning in my own lymph stalled circulation, I briefly recall Doctor Wilzek talking on Brownianian motion with Loiusville spread I donated the boots to a thrift store and they were purchased in a flash. They looked great. I just once more purchased most comfortable Bearclaws and sprayed them with water repellent as we hit the negative Fahrenheits here I don't think swede can handle snow hiking. There is a Famous Footwear I have access to on the bus but I don't think the staff needs to hear this snow gear dilemma Never wore the plastic fancy gear with choices of peace sign or floral motifs

What puts me off a lot of boots, is the fact they put their company names across the boot. I don't want go be a walking advertisement for them! It makes the boots look cheap and nasty! Which some are!

Neither the big brands today doesn’t mean nothing regarding longevity for their products. Everything these days it’s made to buy another model, money is everything. I bought Columbia Fairbanks which are very similar to this model and the water leaked inside and it was waterproof. Yeah…
