This video was exactly what I needed! I was driving myself crazy looking for a 30 to 50 liter molle/hydration compatible pack that was big enough for over night to five day trips but still small enough to be an airport carry-on and within a reasonable price range. Thank you! This is the pack for me.

Thank you for your thoughtful and thorough review! I agree 100%!! I was in the market to replace my 15yr old 72hr BoB pack. With your review and my own research I ended up back at this Condor 3-Day AP and just thought, 'shut up and take my money!' Was NOT disappointed. 1. Order arrived in under 48hrs. Win! 2. I examined every stitch. Flawless! 3. Transferred my old 72hr BoB in to this one. The Condor 3day AP stared at me blankly before saying, 'Is that all you got?' 4. After transferring my gear and adjusting the pack to my goofy size/posture (6'0", 210lbs), the pack felt light as a feather, which was NOT the case with my old pack (RIP). 5. I couldn't stand the deflated look and all the empty pockets and compartments in the C3AP, so I decided to make it a combo 72hr BoB + SHTF Pack (72hr BoB for 2, or 10+ for 1, plus 4 season rather than rotating gear every few months). I added almost exactly 12lbs of gear to the pack. I strapped it on and went on a 5 mile hike. It fit better and felt nicer than my old BoB and had twice the gear & almost twice the weight. 6. Put it to the test! I decided to hit central Tx; just me, the clothes on my back, and this fully loaded pack. I parked, hiked 2 hours (about 4-5 miles) and found a scenic place to 'rough it' for a few days. At one point during the hike on an extended uphill grade my right shoulder started to complain. I stopped to inspect and the sternum strap on the right side was lower than the left. After correcting that, all was well. Over the weekend, God decided to put me and the pack to the test as well (I should have checked the forecast!). A cold front blew in. The temp dropped 30F overnight and I dealt with near freezing temperatures, high winds, and rain all weekend. The pack wasn't phased. It hung from a hitch knot on a tree next to my shelter and took all the wind and rain. Some water did seep through the pack during the heavier downpours, but promptly drained out through the grommets at the bottom. My gear inside is always independently protected from moisture (since my previous pack wasn't water resistant), so no issue there. Winter gear in a 72hr pack in Texas? WASTE of weight and space!! Not that weekend!! This pack has upped my game. Obtaining this pack has evolved my preparedness from having a 2-3 (TX) season primitive (only) 72hr pack, to having a 4 season SHTF (72hr++) pack. With the gear I can comfortably carry in this pack, I can honestly say that I, and another person could survive almost indefinitely (includes hunting/trappig...etc). Comfortably? No. But SHTF means...SHTF - it's homesteading time. But at least this pack can carry everything I need for a post-apocalyptic new start. COULD NOT be happier with this pack and can't wait to evolve its contents by putting it to the next test!

Anyway... I'm getting ahead of myself... I just think you are really going to like what I have planned. Blessings... ~David

I LIVE in a wilderness, so I use much of my gear daily, and always have at least a daypack with me at all times. If my old Toyota 4x4 should ever break down, it would be a LONG walk home. Your review here is perfect. I use 2 packs basicly the Condor 3 day assault pack and a surplus ILBE pack for long treks in the woods. BOTH are the single most comfortable packs I have ever worn, and I carry a load. Good job! You are the Hickock 45 of gear reviews.

Yeah... I'm still working it out... I am trying to get it down to what most people can afford and think it reasonable. Like, if I can only have 2 blades, what do I pick? I just keep adding stuff... Anyway... in the series I will try and keep my kit to a practical and functional minimum... :) ~David

But you, or whomever is 4' 9" will need to try it out. Hope this helps. ~David

Yes. This is an internal frame pack... I have confirmed that and I took it out of the video but I should have left it in there. It has a rigid reinforced polymer panel that is in the back of the pack between the rear padding and the hydration compartment... it's technically in the hydration compartment... you can probably just see the edge of it in a clip in the video. Hope this helps! ~David

I've had one since 2012 and it's seen a lot of not too gentle miles. It works fine for me and I always carry 3 days worth of gear and freeze dried food. It's taken it's lumps and bumps , outer bottom pocket is lined with duct tape, organizer pocket no longer has the pen and radio organizer panel and there's a couple small wear holes in the bottom, but everything has been repaired with duct tape and it just keeps working just fine. Well worth the money

I've been using this pack for medium to heavy loads since 2009. Right now I mostly use it for my main back pack - carry-on for flying to and from work, "luggage" when I go on overnight trips, and misc when I go camping. I only keep a few survival supplies in it regularly, though, seeing as how it is my carry-on and TSA doesn't like BK2 knives, leathermans, matches, lighters, strike-type fire starters, or hooks and such. I have no complaint about this pack. One of the best bangs for you buck!
@JohnKHamrick11 жыл бұрын
Fun Fact: Heavy items should be packed at the top of any bag you are using for an extended movement, in order to place more of the load over the top of your center of gravity. They should not go in the bottom pouch like is suggested in the video. Otherwise a great review of a pretty great bag

Flat-out the best review I have seen for this fantastic pack. Very well thought out and filmed! The only (potential) problem with the pack is the tendency to over load because of packing options and space. Molle can be a bother that way. Mine loaded and including fighting gear weighs in around 60 lbs.
@jaketheprepper11 жыл бұрын
Hey David I couldn't agree more with your rating on this pack. I have gone on two 4 mile hikes with this pack to test it for bug out and I was blown away with how comfortable it was. I would always use the ALICE pack before this and my back would ache from the frame and my shoulders would ache from the straps but this pack did the exact opposite. Great review and have a good day.

I am a proud owner! I bought mine online about 5 years ago. I am a catastrophe first responder, so I travel around the US to locations of disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes and this has been my ONLY backpack. It is 100% rock solid. The only failure I have had, is the metal on the sipper pull on the back pouch where the bladders go broke. So to open pouch the zipper pull is like a hook____> Other than that, I've never had a single problem.

Hi David, I got the Multicam Condor 3-Day Assault Pack ( which was R170 more then the other colors, but R300 cheaper then the ATACS ) & it is a great pack for a BOB. I get all my gear in + level 2 first aid kit, food for a week, 2 sets of clothes & 2 Liters of water & I still have some space left. I find it comfortable to carry & easy to put on & take off, but wish that the zips were better, one broke off, making it hard to open & close the left side pocket.
