How are you finding the action compared to the other customs you've had or a fully trued rem 700? On the fence about one of these atm or using a tikka for a 6gt build
@bradleytyrrell441712 күн бұрын
@ogdens123 it pretty good better than factory actions not as good as the big name custom ones but good. I have a blueprinted rem 700 and it's better than it I will probably buy another one

Hey mate. I read something about the ultimatum bolt has a convex boltface. Any pros and cons? Do they have trigger hanger? Im planning to get one as I can't find any rem700 long action at the moment. Cheers Rodel
@bradleytyrrell44177 күн бұрын
@chief777able yeah the bolt face is a good one easier to machine reliable feeding don't really see a con. No trigger hanger they us pins like a 700. I would buy one over a rem700 every day actually I am buying another one soon Cheers

@bradleytyrrell4417 that's good to hear mate. You mentioned something abou the trigger pin,just wondering what sort of pin did you use to replace them? I also have a 300 wsm shooting f open in howa action(previously 300wm and my first rifle) btw. I am planning to buil 7 saum. Borden,kelbly etc are remington footprints and the waiting time is 6months for borden so I'm just thinking of getting a rem700 or ultimatum
@bradleytyrrell44177 күн бұрын
@chief777able we made the pins out of stainless steel to suit. Yeah nice I previously had built a 300wsm from a weatherby vanguard 300win rifle it was an amazing shooter than I did a dumb thing and sold it. I was originally going to buy a borden also but the wait time was to long so I bought the ultimatum hmb and its been awesome I love it. The only other thing we did to it was we replaced the firing pin spring with a David tubb duo spring kit which speed up the firing time which was another improvement I recommend

@@bradleytyrrell4417 awesome. Thanks heaps mate. Hope we can see more detailed videoas there is not much ultimatum action reviews like stripping the bolts into pieces.lol

@chief777able yeah mate I'll try and do some more videos soon ay after Xmas. But stripping the bolt is exactly the same as a rem 700

Almost no content on these actions. Is there anything you dont like about it?
@bradleytyrrell441712 күн бұрын
@redmorse4321 yeah I couldn't find any if no info or content on this action either, so I just looked at what I seen on there site and jumped in and I love it I am going to buy another one soon. So the only thing me and my gunsmith didn't like was the trigger pins it comes with are roll pins not solid pins so he replaced them and the firing pin spring felt slow to us so it was straight away replaced with a tubb duo spring kit which has made it money. The action is so smooth and well timed, great machining on action and bolt. Well worth the investment if some of the top notch actions are above your budget

@bradleytyrrell4417 I have a rifle being built on one right now. Originally was going to use a 700 but it doesn't make financial sense to fix one up to the same spec as one of these. I'm glad to hear you like it I'm excited for mine to be done.
@bradleytyrrell441711 күн бұрын
@redmorse4321 awesome stuff mate what are you building on it. That was my main reason to buying one also. Buy a used rem 700 than spend 100s to try and make it a little better and your still got a rem 700

@bradleytyrrell4417 Doing an 18.5 223 7 twist. Mcmillan a1-3, m5 dbm, efr, nightforce 3.5-15x50. Basically an xm3 but in 223 and brought up to a modern spec and lightened up a bit. Going to sling 75s 80s and 88gr eldm. Hoping it comes in around 12-14lbs for a mid weight tactical rifle.
