I did this for foundation as I detest bringing heavy glass bottles of foundation when I use 3 pumps per day. I also went through an obsessive phase of condensing my travel toiletries. It was really fun though because even if you are a maximalist you don't cut out any of what you want you just shrink it to exactly what you will need.

Impressive! Just some reminders and advice I'd like to add: - Remember to take sunscreen! Sunscreen formulation can change or degrade if transferred to another container, so it's best to take it in its original packaging. There are some available in travel size packaging, or solid stick options. - If applicable, remember to carry your period supplies. (But since these products are solid, they don't have to go in your liquids bag.) - Remember to take your hairbrush! As this item doesn't always fit inside small toiletry bags, it can be something that people forget. And on that note, remember to pack hair ties and other hair supplies if you use them, either in your toiletries or another kit. - Don't forget your medications, and it's worth taking a couple bandaids and first aid supplies. If your medications are not liquid, then they don't have to go in your liquids/toiletry bag. It's good to take the packaging of your medications with you in case you are questioned about them. To save space, I carry the boxes to my medications flat. I know which tablets they belong to because there's print on the back on my blister packs. - As an alternative to make up wipes, I find the travel size Makeup Eraser cloth removes everything with just water. I've tried other make up cloths, but they aren't as effective or require me to use other cleaners with them. I think Makeup Eraser has some patented textile technology. The con to using a make up cloth is that you need to hang it somewhere to dry, and sometimes when travelling, that isn't ideal, or it might cause you to forget to take it with you.

What a great comment. After forgetting my hair brush and comb a couple of time I pack them in the same ziplock bad as deodorant and sun screen. I also in the handle of the hair brush I wrap a couple of hair rides.

I like shampoo and conditioner bars. I cut off enough for the length of my trip rather than taking the whole bar. I also find floss picks work better for me than regular floss.

I like the shampoo/conditioner bars too. I found that Kitsch also sells a sample box of 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners once I use them up I can then start slicing pieces as needed.

I pack detergent sheets which are super light; a thin washcloth which dries quickly; smash the toothpaste dots into a fine powder which seems easier to pack; solid vaseline stick for face and body.

I agree with a washcloth not always guaranteed available. I like packing a soap sponge, my fave brand so far is T.Taio. They have several options and a mini size that measures 2"×2"×1", so it takes up little room. It gives just the right amount of "scrub" and is dry by the morning. We especially like taking it when camping, if only to have a little less laundry to do when we get home.

Great question! I like it. Lume just came out with a new version that added antiperspirant for sweat control. My underarms only sweat a little. So the original formula is ok for me. But I plan to switch to the cream deodorant + sweat control version when what I have runs out. My preferred scent is clean tangerine. I hope that helps.

Great tips! Thank you. Check out Frau Fowler Mouth Medic tooth powder...it works as toothpaste AND mouthwash in one. As a powder you can even use less than tablets and it doesn't have to go against your liquids restriction. After trying about 10 types of shampoo bars, Zero Waste Cartel shampoo bars are what I now use everyday. They suds well, don't have too much fragrance and leave my hair clean and soft...and once again don't go against one's liquids. One bar lasted me six weeks with my long hair on a recent trip to Europe.

Was just about to type out a comment about tooth powder. I travel long-term, and my 2 oz jar of toothpowder jar lasts over half a year. Most tabs give you more product than you need to brush your teeth.
