I say watchin' the scene of Ryu's and Ken's faces when they saw their master Gouken alive made the whole game and scene completely priceless. Also Gouken moves really pack quite a powerfull wallop.

That's strange. He's unable to do a normal shoryuken. I wonder if that move specifically is considered the most violent, thus why Akuma uses it when he has succumb to the dark hado and increased it's power with Messatsu GoShoryu

@@morbidwolf94 Just posted a comment about this but I'm pretty sure his forbidden shoryuken is that exact same move that Ryu used on Sagat. Infact his stand in for the shoryuken is more like a push. Gouken really believes in defense and not killing your opponent that much. It's probably his own original technique after forming a new style. I wonder if any other shoto has a similar push technique. I guess in a way it's like a hadoken just purely physical.

Here's the thing, though, he taught Ryu and Ken a non-lethal version of the move.

@@MadMax22 He was taught the technique by his master Goutetsu, alongside Akuma, with both forbidden from using it unless in the most dire of needs. It is considered an assassination technique. It is like a gun, designed specifically to kill. Obviously Akuma didn't listen to the "forbidden" part.

My reason for getting into the SFIV series. Gouken had a wicked presence in his debut. You forgot to mention you could churn the pad 4 rotations to max speed of U2. Good stuff regardless.

+Toomnyusernae Yeah, glad you mentioned it. You can also do that to Ryu's Denjin Hadoken in 3rd Strike if I remember correctly.

Correct. The churning was included in ultra though so it's understandable if you forgot to mention it. *edit I mean it was included in AE 2012 ;p

It's interesting how Akumas pose in 5 looms like Goukens in this game. Has that always been the case? Dan's pose for V trigger 2 also looks like Goukens default pose especially since v trigger 2 for dan has him using the shoto fighting style more properly

Dan's V-Trigger 2 Stance is a reference to Ryo Sakazaki's stance from older KoF-titles

I'm gonna have to guess that the forbidden shoryiken is probably the samr move as the one that Ryu used against Sagat. And in a way its also what Kages shoryiken looks like when you hit it more in the air. I keep finding myself going back Gouken to see his complete mastery of the Ansastuken form in comparison to the other shotos. He's almost physically stronger than all of them but chosen to be more defensive.

I'm so stupid... I was wondering if anyone learned from Goukens personal way of fighting and has begun to use Goukens Push which sorta replaces his shoryuken and its was so obvious its stupid. Akuma now uses that push in street fighter 5 I think has one of his skills. He thought he was the strongest for killing his brother and his opponents but then his brother comes back from the dead only to beat him without ever trying to kill him.
