Crazy way to spend some time away from the busy day to day hustle we call work. Mid last week I headed up to Thredbo and Jindabyne to tackle the Mount Kosciusko Trail Run. Such an amazing and beautiful place, but as spectacular as it may seem, conditions can be harsh and change in a heartbeat. Away from work, lots of training prepared me for the crazy adventure ahead. Starting at 3:30am on Friday morning, traversing across the Snowy Mountains over 160kms (100 miles), over 4,700 meters of elevation gain and taking 27:30 hours to complete one epic race alongside supports from my brother, best mate and some people we met along the way. We were hit with lightning storms and pulled off course twice, torrential rain for 13 hours straight, strong winds and freezing conditions. I survived….just! I’ve said to a few, it’s a love hate relationship really, but the bug was caught a few years ago because of the community of runners and anyone associated in trail running. One hell of an adventure.
