Possible one of the most amazing motorcycles ever produced. The Vincent Rapide is simply one of the most amazing machines I've ever seen. Wahoo! Baxtercycle.com

Hi ,may I say for someone who does not know much about Vincents you gave the best coverage of the various features of the design I have seen! The hole near the sidestand pivot is for sidecar fitment. I own a Vincent Comet and use the sidestand exclusively !, I have done a few small alterations, but I still have to be careful: it was not his best design ! Between the two rear spring boxes is a hydraulic damper (there is another on the front forks) but this was early days and those dampers did not respond quickly so there was a bit of movement or "free play" in the system . To alleviate this Vincent added adjustable friction dampers on the seat strut where it connects to the rear pivoting frame. The alloy knobs clamp up on a ring of friction material . Modern dampers are available and work much better! Best regards from jolly old England.

Was just chatting with a friend about the Vincent Comet earlier this evening. A very interesting motorcycle, for sure. Am amazed at how almost every part of this Vincent is unique to these bikes. Thank you for the wonderful information. Wahoo!

You are correct. Did that google thing and came up with both a Full Faired Black Knight and Black Prince in those year. Wahoo!

I think it was the black Knight.

It seems they made two fully faired bikes. The Black Knight and the Black Princess. Not sure what the difference was between the two. Wahoo!
