Hey hey, fun fact. In ultrakill death is actually a rare mercy :) in the the violence layer it can be theorized in lore that whenever a husk dies it reincarnated as those weird blood thingies you fight when feeding the tree. This can assumed from how they mimic alot of enemies you face like the mannequins and other low level husks, so in reality no you're not really putting them down you're just making their suffering more painful by having them now live in the violence layer to be rebuilt and killed again and reincarnated again and continue suffering :)
