Out for a couple of hours of ultralight fishing with the Shimano Sensilite UL Spinning Rod, on a section of river that I grew up on but haven't fished in over 2 decades. For the $50 price-point, it is awfully hard to beat that Shimano Sensilite! Hope you and your family have been well, Fitzy. Long time no chat! Glad to see you're still catching them as always :) I always like to fish my old stomping grounds (even the ones that aren't good). It brings back such meaningful memories.

Ethan!! How are you sir!? Yes, it's a great rod for the price. Unfortunately I HAD to buy it because I broke one of my favorite UL rods in the spring and this was its replacement because I couldn't find that brand/model anymore. But the Sensilite is a great rod for the price for sure and has dome well for me this year. The family is doing great! And I hope the same for you and yours. I've been following along with you but I just don't comment much on vids anymore. I see you got your 10+ bluegill and I enjoyed your review on the Sensilte. Also very happy to see the new tungsten jig heads, which I plan to pick up soon. Nice to hear from you buddy and I'll stop over and say hi more often. Miss ya!

The memories of the role the river systems play in our lives bring back wonderful childhood memories, and as The Rock says, "know your role", Haha. It's great to see they are still making memories for kids of today. I thought you were snagged also, love it when a snag starts moving, Haha.

Yeah, too many kids today, lock themselves up in the house and in front of their phones or Playstations. Nice! you always get stuff at the river!! Man I went a few times now to three spots 0 nothing at all this heat and weather messed up stuff this year!

The weather has been crazy hot and humid and has made for some tough fishing. Summer is the worse time of year for fishing IMHO. I went out yesterday in the kayak and fished hard for 6 hours and only managed 2 largies and a rockbass.

For sure Bill. I fished Onondaga Lake (and its outlet) hard, a couple of days for over 6 hours and only squeaked out 2 bass.

I love the Nikko Hellgrammite and so do the fish. That snag turned into a nice smallie, in that current, with that ultralight…. Sweeeet ! Great time on the Oswego FitzY. Can’t wait to fly home today and get back on the water. Jonesin’ for the Tug.

@@FitzYakin I flew down to Florida on Monday to spend some time with my favorite Aunt who is battling Cancer. We’ve always been real close as she is not that much older than me. She’s doing pretty good considering and we had some fun times. Hopefully there will be more of those in the future but nothing is promised.

Nice catches. I was about to ask why don't you fish there during the spawn, then you said you will be there on the spring. Nice looking area. What was the old building?

Yeah, crazy that's its basically in my backyard but I never fish it anymore lol. But next spring for sure. When I was a kid, the old building was a bait and tackle shop and fish cleaning station during the salmon run. There's also am old abandoned factory from the turn of the century behind that.
