Another GOAT review! Agreed with your points, especially in how the team can be written to be more affectionate as time goes. Like the ep where Gento learned it's Emi's bday, I thought they will show a scene where they celebrate her day after... But nope 😢 Also wished there's more of a reason of why Blazar suddenly pulled out wacky-ass (non-caveman) moves like making a crane/bull capes. Like show Gento at least fond of playing skill cranes with his son or watching bull fights as a hobby. Still had fun with the show though! It feels like a Heisei series made in 2020s!!

Finally! Banger incoming! Edit: It is a banger! Also, from what I've remembered the Blazar Movie is pretty much all about family and the contrast between Gento's and the antagonist's family relationship. It's a great movie with a great message.

Honestly great review. I agreed with a lot of your points in the video and you bring up a lot of good ones too that I hadn't thought about before. Also I gotta agree with you on the music. The music is fantastic, super unique, and just such a vibe. I also forgot that Zugugan even existed LMAO.

Honestly the only problem I had with Blazar is the fact that the GDF is supposed to be an organization that has history dealing with Kaiju for several years already, yet we've never seen them actually be able to defeat a single Kaiju. Only possible explanation, is that the Kaiju we see on screen are stronger than the ones they've fought.

Well, I’m late for the occasion, but screw it, I’m commenting anyways. I’ll try not to make it long though. First of all, how dare you kidnap a sacred treasure! You will pay for that sin! But on a serious note, I absolutely love Ultraman Blazar. From the natural chemistry the cast shared with each other, to the uniqueness of the Ultraman itself and the brand new Kaiju as well as a lot of other things, I was having a blast all the way throughout the run. Even though there were some aspects of it that weren’t perfect (particularly, I thought the V99 conflict could have been built on a little better as it felt somewhat rushed in the finale, plus the moments Bandai and the corporate heads interjected were more jarring than a typical New Gen show), the highs of Blazar were more than enough to keep me going. It was something the series needed after treading through two shows that struggled with their own identities and were so hinged on the past, and even if it could have worked, I am so glad that this wasn’t New Generation Gaia.

I also want to add how this show gave me a whole new level of respect for director Kiyotaka Taguchi. Previously, I just kind of brushed him off as someone who I thought was just good at his work and nothing else. Only after experiencing Blazar as well as hearing a couple of his interviews have I greatly renewed my views on him. As much as I respect all the other directors who worked on this show and others for their time and effort as well as their passion for the franchise, I feel like the real attention to detail, respect for the franchise, and especially the insistence of realizing individual visions that Taguchi has really makes him an absolute legend in the modern era.

Apparently there are rumours that Bazanga will return in Arc as the opponent in the Blazar crossover episode, so we might get to see lobster boi again really soon And yeah, I agree that Earth Garon needed to do more. His track record in the beginning was so bad that it seemed like a waste of taxpayer money. It just felt weird, esp bc one of my favourite things about Decker was how often GUTS Select got to deal the killing blow instead Hearing Blazar's battle theme in the "Code Name: Ultraman" trailer immediately sold me on the show. It was used so well in the trailer too, but in the show proper it never once played while Blazar was winning, which was a shame. Fun fact: the bridge of Brave Blazar has "Special Effects Fantasy Series" hidden in the lyrics

I agree with you blazar is very good ultraman series but, I still prefer decker because, decker story is very unique and amazing (in my opinion). I just want to say I don't like how you wrote in the title ultraman's good again because, that made the other new gen shows looks bad. I hate that type of people who say new gen shows are bad. I know you are not that type of people. In the end blazar is not the only good show in the new gen era and ultraman is always my favorite series of all time and great video.

The title was more in reference to my reviews of Trigger and Decker. I only reviewed Trigger in the first place because it felt like a major drop off in quality to me, and I wanted to analyze why. An extended version of the title would be: Ultramans good again after the drop in quality started by trigger? I love a lot of the new gen shows, and think they're similar in quality to Blazar in a lot of ways. Also I'm glad to hear you were able to find enjoyment in Decker!

Even as a genuine fan of his style, his work on the ultra series has been frustrating me for a while. Obviously, Trigger was a dumpster fire of epic proportions, and his episodes in Decker were some of my least favorites in recent times. Even talking outside of Ultraman, he isn’t the most consistent. In particular, both the Revice and Geats V-Cinemas he directed rather disappointed me. However, the thing that really sealed the deal on how I viewed Sakamoto was Ultraman Regulos. I don’t know if this is a hot take, but for me personally, it might be the biggest disappointment I have experienced in the ultra series, and is easily my least favorite project of Sakamoto, and it is ultimately the thing that really made me doubt Sakamoto’s credibility. This was 100% a passion project for Sakamoto, and if what we got was a generic storyline of the outsider student trope with incredibly messy pacing and disregard for its characters and world, then I don’t even know what to believe in him anymore. At least with Trigger, there was a bunch of corporate meddling that greatly changed the original vision of the show. I’m not excusing the final result, I’m just saying there was some hinderance that greatly altered the show into what it is. With Regulos, there is no excuse for being so mediocre. It is a complete disappointment that ultimately made me really doubt Sakamoto as a whole, to the point where I’m beginning to think that Geed was a fluke. Damn, I wrote a lot. Apologies for how long that rant was.

@@GekiyaBlazar-wo8wz I mean I'm okay with Sakamoto's direction style on Kamen Rider series tho, even Gotchard looks damn cool with it, but if he do some Ultraman stuff, it gotta be UGF, Regulos or some kind of that, not an individual ultra series
