There’s a song, “Yellow Windows” if I remember correctly, by Michael Tomlinson (?) At 28:05 + that reminded me of it. It’s just a song about walking past houses with yellow windows for their interior lights. If you like soft rock/folk song music, check it out. 😊

We have been on this road back in 1992 on our honeymoon. Spent in San Francisco and then toured all the wineries around here. Stayed in Calistoga also and saw Yosemite. Loved the area.

As a former truck driver, might I suggest when YOU can see zero traffic ahead so he can safely pass, turning on your RIGHT signal and hugging the right side of the road a bit. You can tap your brakes but no need to slow, it’s just to give them a hint. While your van is not as wide, it is wide enough to prevent them from seeing past you safely. By your choosing a safe time it helps everyone drive safer. Just a thought. 😊

Your fresh water lasts months? 😱 I assume you know it’s not drinkable after a few days, and unsafe after a week or so UNLESS it’s treated. Dropping a sanitation tablet in your tank every few weeks will help, or FLUSHING your fresh tank frequently will also help.

Nice drive! My sister in law lives in Winters. In fact I was just there on Friday. I stopped by on my way home from my other brother's place just outside of Medford. My daughter and I went up for a 6-day visit.
