I have a theory about Jared that may sound weird, but here it is. Something I've often wondered about HK All-Stars is whether or not Ashley was supposed to be a big player on the season. The first episode gave her multiple storylines and confessionals (such as knowing other contestants as either friends or rivals, and being an HK Super-Fan in general). And what some reality seasons will do is cast people from similar seasons on All-Stars ones to either continue or recreate previous storylines (something Drag Race and Survivor have done). And I think it's because of that why Jared and Manda were brought on this season. They were on Season 15 with Ashley (Jared even having a MAJOR storyline with her that season, given their friendship/kinda-sorta show-mance, which culminated in a falling out when he didn't choose her to go on a reward he won), and maybe those storylines could continue. And then... Ashley gets sniped out of the competition after the second service, since she was mentally checked out that service (for context, her grandfather was on his deathbed when she left for the season, and she barely got to say goodbye to him when she left. And on top of THAT, her brother suddenly died while she was on her original season, and she didn't find out until after filming wrapped. So basically, it was a Jenna Morasca on Survivor All-Stars-type situation for Ashley). And with Ashley gone, there was not much left for Jared or Manda in terms of storyline. So maybe either Jared or the producers came up with the cut thing to either have Jared be known for SOMETHING, or to get him out of there now that there was little storyline left for him, AND he had no chance of winning.

It’s actually kind of ironic that Matt’s migraine is on here considering earlier in the season, he actually did cut the tip of his finger off and recovered from that just fine. I dunno what went wrong on the migraine episode, but it gave us one memetastic downfall

I personally believe (and this is just a theory) that he was embarrassed by his performance and was a bit frazzled and wanted an excuse for it. Sometimes people make up excuses for ‘more reasonable’ reasons as to making mistakes, to hopefully limit harsh reactions. I do genuinely believe he was out of it, but a migraine? He wouldn’t even be standing, if he did truly have one. Migraines are some of the worst pain someone can have and strong headache may often be assumed to be migraines or hyperbolicly described, as a migraine. At most, he had a stress-induced headache (probably.)

As a sufferer of migraines i actually believe matt had one - pissed off, confusion, forgetfulness and clumsiness doing the basics like opening a painkiller packet. But, matt behaved that way almost 100% of the time so maybe he had a constant one....? 😅 With mine i cant even get out of bed or bear listening to anything nor have any light near me which us hard with my adhd brain needing constant noise. Also, you got yourself a new sub. Your intros always make me smile 😊

Awwww, thank you. And yeah, I do give the benefit of the doubt to all the chefs here (except the #1 picks obv), since I can't properly diagnose what they have without medical equipment or *especially* a medical license. Though I wasn't especially convinced of most of them, hence why they made the list at all. However, if you speak from experience with migraines, which I've never had myself, then I will take your word on it.

I know this is the wrong video but in case people are wondering where the S22 teams stand on the worst/best list Blue Team 7/10 challenges. 3/9 services=10/19 or 52.6(10th place and tied with S20 Red Team) Red Team 3/10 challenges and 3/9 services=6/19 or 31.6(tied for 6th with S17 Red Team)

As someone who has dealt with migraines, and who has lived/worked with people who got migraines, I can say that Matt doesn't look like he had one in that clip. He just looks like he has no morale, yes a migraine is an easy excuse, and while shoulder/neck pain can cause headaches....a migraine will debilitate someone much more.

@@liminalcriminal_ People go "Oh I have a migraine" at headaches very often. Not once have I met someone who has a migraine, gets offered to rest to help it recover, and go "I want to power through it." A bad headache isn't the same as a migraine. It's why I said it looks like he doesn't have a migraine specifically, not a headache. He could have legitimately had a headache from being dehydrated, but it's very likely not a migraine. Don't mix the two up, migraines debilitate people much, much more than bad headaches.

Honestly, for the criteria I'd use, Raj wouldn't be on it. Because my list would be for chefs designated as partners to a station *from the start*. Which is also why Elise wouldn't be on that list either, most of the time she barged in on other's stations. And Raj started as a waiter in that service as was forced to work with Boris, so he wouldn't count... But yes, that as an atrocious display of "teamwork" (teamwork wasn't really the problem as much as Raj not understanding the 1st step of making a f***ing pizza)

What’s interesting about your number one pick is that Andrew from Season 1, who I don’t like, actually did cut his finger during prep work in the Season 1 finale and even he had more fight in him than Gia and Jared when he returned to help Ralph in the finale.

That's a very good idea for a video. Though I'd prob re-title it since many eliminations could be controversial in one way or another. But in the manner you're described, probably the more correct term would be "robbed". I don't even use that word much, but it does apply to all of those examples you mentioned. Although I assume you meant "Alison over Josh", because Alison was the person who went home that round.

Having finished Season 9, I have to agree with you regarding Elise not being my most despised contestant that season. Granted, I certainly don't like her either but she's only my 4th least favorite that season instead of number 1. For me, my least favorite from Season 9 is a tossup between Brendan for his cockiness and arrogance, him lying to Ramsay about a cooked piece of bass, and for having no passion for anything except getting laid and Chino for his poor cooking abilities, him not even doing his job as a matre d' correctly, and for being jerk when he refused Natalie's help during dinner service and later making her cry after the entire blue team got kicked out.

@@ultranaticproductions3103 Jonathan, though originally I was going to have him at 5 and Carrie or Elise at number 4 or number 3 respectively (currently, Carrie's number 5). I wanted to be lenient with Jonathan because he died... then I actually watched the Season and his laziness during the punishment, him blaming his teammates for his mistakes, and his sexist tirade in the finale after he got kicked off the meat station and Paul put Elise on were enough reasons to move up to number 3.

I literally showed him being complimented by Gordon Ramsay for cooking perfect wellingtons in the FIRST dinner service; with no other issues shown in that service. And the 2nd and 3rd services had no issues either. I don't think it was until episode 5 when he had *major* mistakes, like having Paul practically take over his garnish station. I'll acknowledge he got called out by GR in Episode 4 for throwing the chef's table salad away in an unprofessional manner, but that's more a composure mistake, not a culinary one.
