i’m wondering the purpose of humidifiers, i originally thought they were to get rid of humidity, but they’re not apparently they’re just to humidity a room, but i really don’t know why anyone would want it humid in their room

Other non-healthy related benefits show that during the summer humidifying your home can help wood furniture, floors and instruments retain their shape and function better as the heat can cause massive drying which can then cause the wood to change shape. Water condensation on electronics can certainly cause damage. The amount of mist should be adjusted to prevent condensation on nearby surfaces.
