When I was Henry's age I used to say the way you could tell the difference between a boy and a girl was that girls had eyelashes and boys didn't- purely based on a picture book in my Sunday school classroom of the Noah's Ark story where all the female animals had eyelashes lol.

When my granddaughter was 2, she pointed that out to us. Based on the eyelashes, she would tell us the girls from the boys.

Im was the oldest and only girl in my family , so my mama and I would pull our waistbands up over our navels and lift our tops up a bit , and say to my little brothers " See? , girls dont have belly buttons"! 🤣🤣, ( I have no idea how that one got started, lol )

@Jessica E Nobody said or even implied that an unhealthy baby isn't a blessing. Naturally, every parent hopes and prays for a healthy baby. And there isn't anything wrong with that. No, everyone doesn't have the blessing of being healthy and that is very unfortunate, however, most parents (atleast good ones) will love their children regardless of their health. This is meant to be an exciting and joyous time, so let's not pull a shadow over it by making comments that are anything other than joyous and exciting.

This reminds me of when my oldest daughter asked my husband how you can tell if it’s a boy or a girl… He panicked and he said if the doctor wrapped the baby in a boy blanket it’s a boy and if he wraps it in a girl blanket it’s a girl 😂😂. He said I wasn’t prepared.

they had said that they usually keep it a secret until the baby is born but now that their kids are getting a little older they want to know so they said they would probably reveal it this time. I can't remember if that was in the video they did for TLC or if it was in an article or something when they announced the pregnancy

Ivy was especially precious...she’s pretty excited and at moments awestruck by the images of her new sister or brother. I’m not so secretly hoping it’s a girl so Ivy can have a sister really close in age but if it’s a boy they’ll be close and love each other just the same. I love how Spurgeon & Henry know the difference between a boy and a girl....so cute....these will be especially fun home videos for them to watch when they’re older one day..I’m so happy for your sweet family and praying for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery for both mom and baby.
