Great! Thank you very much. What is the difference between adductor canal block and saphenous nerve block?

There really is no difference assuming the placement of the anesthetic is above the knee through the adductor Magnus. Hunters Canal, also known as the adductor canal contains the Femoral Artery/Vein and Saphenous nerve. Technically, you could perform a saphenous nerve block more distal above the ankle if you can find it.

Ryan Reeves I agree. There is no question though that we get better analgesia with a femoral block compared to a saphenous block for anterior knee surgery.
