Considering the recent Smash Ultimate World of Light trailer and the constant comparisons between Smash and the Avengers, a cool Death Battle idea could be the Avengers vs the original 8 Smash veterans (or the original 12 depending on who will fight on the Avenger's side). I say the original 8 or 12 is because if I remember correctly there aren't too many members of the Avengers. At the very least, if all current Smash fighter faught the Avengers I'm pretty sure the Smash characters would stomp since there's over 70 of them now.

SonofRiggnarok After going through some info about him, no he's not a virus but he's quite powerful. Over the years he's been portrayed as a Humanoid Alien or Cybernetic Construct but I believe it was during the 2008 Superman: Brainiac storyline he became a cyborg in a sense, yet can transfer his consciousness into other minds and drones he's created. As of New 52 and Rebirth, many of his past incarnations are canon due to this ability.

Rock Lee vs. Izuku Midoriya or All might vs. Might Gai? It might seem like if All Might fought Gai he'd win easily but All Might post-all-for-one battle has the same weakness as Gai, using his strength amplifying powers really damages his body. His past 100% force vs Nomu was similar to what Gai did when he released the 8th gate against Madara. Both have also punched so hard that wind pressure shoots at an enemy. Kinda makes sense.
