Hello doctor. Is it okay to discontinue pentids if the infection is cured ? My niece who's 16 now started to take pentids 5 years ago and had regular checkups till 3 months back. But some months back the doctor we took her to passed away. The infection was cured but the doctor was of the opinion that the medication should be continued. We are planning to stop taking it. It's been 5 years or more and a couple of weeks after taking the medicine the infection had gone. But the doctor asked to continue further. Is it now fine to discontinue it ?
