I like the change. We have two types of ulver to enjoy. Whay i find really boring is when bands change from true old school to "new" black metal, like gorgoroth.

You might want to look into the stuff their old guitarist Haavard is doing these days. The one group he's in, Dold Vorde Ens Navn, isn't exactly like old Ulver, but it's definitely got undertones of that same elegance. And his solo stuff is basically Kveldssanger 2.
