The french soundtrack was released, it had 43 tracks and didn't include this, the BEST song from it! Thanks for releasing a version of it to listen to, it's really fantastic! :)

It's John Williams (Star Wars composer). They couldn't include this on any soundtrack release for Ulysses 31 as there was a copyright infringement case against the U31 score in 1983 by Lucasfilm Ltd, but were allowed to use subsequent music in existing prints. Works so well! :)

I'm gonna have to scour my memories for some retro tunes from my youth because i can't get over how cool you make this tune sound. As for Starfleet, you may not know it if you're not from the UK as it was on TV in 1983 i think but i'm not sure which other countries got it. Anyway, if you're interested still, just type in 'Starfleet Closing Titles' into youtube and it's the first one i think. Good luck and keep up the great work!

I dont get it myself, they're similar but you might just as easily make two themes similar by accident just by going for dramatism. I like this one better.

It's not an accident. Jean Chalopin was quite disappointed with the lackluster soundtrack composed by the Japanese staff, that's why he asked American composers Denny Crocket & Ike Egan for a whole new soundtrack. But then again, he was not thrilled by what he heard. He then asked them for something a bit more "star warsy". That's when they used this funky/disco remix by Meco, only a bit rockier. From what I heard, it was only meant to be a temp track during editing, and not to be included in the final version. And as far as I know, there never was any legal dispute with Lucasfilm or John Williams about this track. How on earth would have they ever found out about this French anime that hardly anybody knew outside of France in the early 80's?

Did you get a chance to check SF yet?? If u want a longer version of the track, youtube 'Brian May Starfleet' and it's the 3rd one down. Eddie Van Halen does guitar with May on that track - savage!

Love this theme - even though (1:24-1:45) is blatantly The Battle of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back (The bit where luke destroys the AT-AT with the grenade) LOL! Awesome work dude!

Love it love it, well done it sounds excellent! Any chance you could get round to covering the end titles theme from Starfleet? That's a class tune (Brian May i think), it needs a serious revival and i think you're the man to do it!
