This is useful to know. It's one thing to buy an air compressor but it's another thing to be able to repair it at home, WITHOUT having to spend a lot of money for spare parts. Looks good Rick.

Rick, it's refreshing to see someone keeping track of which screw came out of which hole. Even the best machining practices create unique cut patterns. The odds that all of the screws have the exact same cutting pattern/wear surface profile are astronomical. Replacing the screw in the original factory assembly location reduces potential "realignment" issues, and allow for more rebuild services, extending the life of your equipment appreciably. Just a word to the wise. If you are at the point that rebuild is indicated, while you have it torn down, REPLACE EVERYTHING! If it's been there as long as parts that have degraded visually, there's degradation that you DON'T see. Temperature variations are the bane of synthetic rubber replacements. If one O-ring has failed over time, the rest are ready to fail, even if they "look OK". You can't see thermal degradation without a $100,000 optical spectrograph. Replace the 50¢ O-ring. Respectfully yours, A DOD contractor assembly tech. P.S. at least go to Harbor Freight and buy a cheap torque wrench. You'll thank yourself for it.

nice video as always . I noticed no lube was put on the orings? is that not allowed with a compressor?

smiles i use the gx-l3 and have for a year and as long as i dont use it for more than 15 minutes at a cycle it needs no maintenance ever. buy 3 and you can cycle each for 15 minutes and the other two will have a 30 min rest and you can fill tanks and whatever and buying 3 of them only costs $1250 and ya know i bought one one year and the next a year later and the third this year and all are running like champs and use lithium batteries so i can take them with me instead of a tank and a converter for 110v keeps me from using the batteries unless it is absolutly needed. and makita batteries work on the compressors too. so i just dont see the sense in the expensive compressors. i hate maintenance.. @@regsparkes6507

Great video, thanks Rick. Should we not use some silicon grease on the O-rings or did I miss you say that?

Hey, Rick! My little ReadyAir has been a great help while in the field allowing me to fill my airguns away from home. However, recently it has started doing something weird - it pumps the pressure up to about 200 bar and then something releases the air and it starts pressuring up again. This, apparently, isn't the burst disc as when I've seen that pressure won't build at all until the disc is replaced. Would you have any idea what valve or (most likely) O-ring is at fault here?
@AirGunWeb8 ай бұрын
Have you rebuilt it? I'd simply do the rebuild as it's probably due. Don't do it piecemeal, but rather do the whole upgrade. Cheers AGW
@donpeer44778 ай бұрын
@@AirGunWeb I haven't rebuilt it . Yet. I've only had it for about a year and only rarely use it. I prefer to take my tanks with me when I'm out pesting. I don't think it even has 3 hours of use. Could the O-rings dry out from lack of use? Is there a way to see the run time? My Hill tracks it right on the display.

The piston on mine isn’t moving up and down at all even though it just arrived yesterday. Does it need rebuilt or is it DOA…
@AirGunWeb Жыл бұрын
That sounds DOA. Where did you buy it? See if they will replace it. Cheers AGW

I recently bought the hammer and the Umarex ready air. What I have noticed after my short time with it is that when I pump it to 4500psi, I only get two shots. So instead of killing my compressor pumping it up to 4500 Everytime, I am only pumping it up to 3500, I'm still getting two regulated shots and I'm not killing the pump to do it. My common Sense tells me that it's a lot easier on the pump which of course should make it last longer between rebuilds. Like I said I'm only shot it 20 time and I'm still experimenting. What do you think?

The way you showed the results of that rebuild was pretty lame and sketchy. Not cool Rick..

Hey there. The camera had an issue. I had filmed the results of the rebuild but found that they were lost. I had the footage from my phone showing it working and made the decision, given all that’s on my plate health wise and time wise to go with that as a resolution. I’ll be using that compressor with my upcoming UX videos also you’ll get to see it working in all its repaired “glory” if that’s really important to you. I’ve asked for folks to have patience and understanding as I deal with Chemo treatments. It’s getting harder as we are getting near the final push. Hopefully you can extend me some grace as we get through this final push and treatment. Cheers AGW

Best to use your camera as you work on sections, then you have a photo to show how it was set up at the start
