Umarex Smith & Wesson M29 Air Gun review

I had the real deal back in the 80s but a 4 inch. That said WOW this is as close to the real deal as you can get for an air gun. I like it so much that after I got the first one I bought another one and now have 2 of them.

Looks like an idea for an aftermarket company to pick up and make a wood grip to work on that model 29 pellet and BB CO2 air revolver.

The rear sight is adjustable for elevation, as well as for windage.

Nice overall gun, but the grips feel flimsy and weak, especially in the 8" version, where you have all that weight out front. If Umarex didn't want to spring for wood grips, they could have at least chose a better/thicker grade of plastic. This gun has been selling in the $150 ballpark lately. Not expensive, but not exactly cheap either.

I just filled the voids inside the grip with epoxy putty fixed the flex.

I heard it has bit of a twisting problem for the cylinder when it rotates. Do you notice this at all? How bad is it?

The cartridges are the same as those for the SAA.

About 18 months ago i got into airguns, i currently have a spring rifle, an AR bb, Beretta bb, 2 bb revolvers and a pellet revolver, i don't need them all, i just like collecting them, the funny thing is, up until i started collecting i always thought it was Smith & Western 😂 obviously i now know it's Wesson 👍

I see other video and it says that this gun only shoot bb not pellets i'm right?? I suppose that is the same model (smith wesson m29 8.375 inch co2 bb revolver).

The revolver is a lot of fun and accurate, but mine even with rear sight fully elevated, shoots low. The cylinder movement is a result of the cylinder rod not pushing on the spring in the ejector rod housing. A design flaw. It needs an extension on the end of the rod to do this. Umarex as usual screws the US market. They should have offered the 61/2 and 3 1/2 barrels but haven’t and probably never will

lol. If people didn't understand how you feel about .44 Mag, they would think this video was silly. Makes total sense why a M29. I got a Python ".357" airsoft where you load the bb's in a faux case.
