As I recall, this game was played the same night that the infamous Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding figure skating competition at the 1994 Winter Olympics was held.

I remember this! One week after UMass beat Temple on a last second shot and Chaney threatened Cal with death during the post game news conference. This single game was better than most Big East rivalry matchups that season.
