Honestly I think that the good ending shows exactly why Kuon's the only one who was able to cross the Boundary back into the world of the living. No matter what she remembers her owner and holds onto her hope to get back home. Even though she can briefly forget her owner's face through determination she remembers who she was in life. The others however fail by falling to rely upon their monstrous appearance so much that it becomes permanent or become so in love with the soul realm that they have no will to leave. Shrodinger is the biggest example of that ladder part as they liked the calmness of the soul realm so much that they couldn't stand the mental toll the living realm placed on them. Locke was the closest one to getting back home, but he failed due to awakening a monster inside of them and forgetting the very reason why they even wanted to leave in the first place.

The music that plays during humanoid form tells this as well. Listening back to it, you have what feels like an upbeat flute or wind instrument playing before an extremely emotional guitar part that reminds me of something out of Megaman Zero plays. Keeping with the momentum you can tell Kuon's determination and drive to get back to her owner before it finishes with a passionate ending. Despite it being only about 1:30min long that's all it really needs to convey its meaning, I personally feel.

Well, there is still the worst ending which Kuon ate the owner alive, and the secret ending the portal stayed open even after Kuon crossed it. So I think anything can cross the portal, it's just that nothing ever beat Claudius.

@@LongNguyen-pe3jy Yeah that's what I meant. Nobody could cross the barrier due to Claudius. Claudius blocked off any way to get back to the land of the living until Kuon came and took him out. Admittedly I've not seen the full game and I haven't seen the other endings, but I assumed that the portal was open even after Kuon went through as Claudius did say that multiple beings did come through to the land in-between the world Kuon found themselves in after their death and that of the land of the living. Claudius just killed and I believe... ate(?) all of them.

I like how the final boss is like a gauntlet. It’s gonna put you at a disadvantage no… Instead this is a fight is made to see how much of there crap you can take…

Its like a test to show how much Kuon's love to his owner (Feline or Humaniod mode) to determine the Ending before revive

Very good release by Inti. Hope to see something similar in the future, maybe an expansion to the story lore? Loved the game.

I agree. Alongside Locke, I especially feel bad for Moenna and Alice, too. Even though it's never explained why Moenna killed herself, it doesn't matter for me; as someone who has many friends who suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts, I just want to do everything I can for those who have such mindsets. And for Alice, well, abuse and being convinced that such abuse is "deserved" and a part of "love" are a very personal topic for me, as my mother survived that crap with her ex-husband; though, of course, not without the severe physical and mental scars that come with it. I am very glad that her ex-husband is not my father.

@@user-fermayder I guess when Locke finally passed, his soul split thus turned his body into a bed of flowers which symbolize a peaceful rest. His soul cannot return but instead able to reincarnate unless if the soul got destroyed.

I love umbrawclaw did they ever explain how kuon died? I think I’m half way through the game and I don’t think they explained it or I just missed it

The opening dialogue pretty much says that the circumstances behind Kuon's death don't matter, just the fact she is in fact now dead.

Soooo Boring. The amount of characters yapping and action are both dragging way too long and without any real substance. Japan invented Rockman (megaman) years ago, why is this kind of 2D gameplay still not acceptable? Dodge 10 times for a lousy (Y) QTE meow😂 Since when does cat have that much attention span?

Haven't tried Humanoid yet, but Mayflies saved me so much on Feline. Honestly, I prefer prolonging the fight over dying again and again... Also, combined with Anaconda, it made Claudius fight so much easier.
