I loved pre 2004 Umek....was a time he was on par with the best for tunes and skills.

For me he was the best 3 deck DJ. Was totally flashed hearing him live at Mayday the first time. And his productions like this here., Gatex or the releases on Recycled Loops were absolute bangers and often innovativ. Hard Techno, House, Tribal Techno. It was so much variety. Really strange. Like he lost his good taste for music.

@@andreasakamatos lol, techno hasn't "evolved" to any better point and to be frank techno like this does not and can not exist anymore because there would be no use in making it. It's the same as saying primitive cultures are 'alive' in today's society, which obviously they aren't. It's ok to be nostalgic, not an invitation to be annoyed, start swearing or call people names. I'm not a boomer btw, I'm from 1983. Genres do represent an era in evolution. Just because people keep repeating a formula that has been done in an era and a time when it was new and subversive, doesn't mean it still has the same meaning, value or quality as the initial "invention". I stopped listening to techno a while ago because anything "new" just sounds like what's already been done hundreds of times but usually the older stuff was better to begin with. Just because you weren't there doesn't mean it's not a fact of life that the techno era was amazing and has unfortunately past a while now ;-) Doesn't mean there's no new interesting era's but techno is not where it's at today ;-)
