Spent a Day in Seaside-Lavallette NJ after Hurrican Sandy

I volunteered a day in Seaside-Lavallette to help repair the damage. This video was shot Thursday‎, ‎December‎ ‎06‎, ‎2012. This area is currently under restriction and most people cannot enter this area as it is extremely dangerous and a disaster area. I had to get a pass to enter for the day. The homes were all underwater for the most part. Every home needs to have EVERYTHING ripped out of it, meaning the walls, insulation, rugs, floor, tiles, appliances, and so on so the house is basically a Skeleton. Extremely hard work and every home needs to be dried out too, takes generators and large machines.

Its amazing how "beautiful of a day" it was when you were there, but how terribly devastating it still is. I grew up going to my Grandparents beach house in Normandy Beach. Our house is actually in your video at 9:41. We were one of the lucky ones with very minimal damage & will be able to continue our memories down there for years to come. Thanks for the video.

I also went in Dec that year to check it out and was shocked how bad it was. I was born in Seaside and I visit often. I was supposed to be there for my bday (Nov 1st) I could not get off work and thank god for that because I would have been there for this.

Lavallette didn't get hit as bad because they build up their dunes and fence them off. STAY OFF THE DUNES!

If you had a woman with you,you could have told the cops that she was going there for an abortion in order for you to go in there without trouble.
