My favorite “Umibe” AMV 🥰 Such a bittersweet BL movie... Is there any “older fujoshis or fudanshis” cuz while I see “Mio was top, what a plot twist” in the comments, I wasn’t shocked. I just saw “switch/natural loving energy” between this couple (Okay, I was surprised-but I quickly got over it. I’m glad it’s not “exclusively seme/uke dynamic”, they’re “equals” in this relationship). If there was a plot twist, it was I didn’t expect that they really sleep together, with Shun pushing away Mio in the 1st act (he was a gay guy that got hurt so it was hard for him to open up) then changing the subject in the 2nd

I just clicked on this video and I was like " Wait lemme watch the movie first " So I searched it up and just watched the movie and then I just finished watching the AMV lol. Mio being the 'top' during it caught me off guard SO BADLY. I was like 110% sure it wouldn't be him-

Yeah I must say I like that they put Mio as the top, because I personally don't like those extreme power dynamics, where the tall and muscular guy's the dominant and demanding top, and the smaller one is the subish and helpless bottom...in my opinion there's often a kind of abusive/rapey touch about that. So I like that it's balanced out with Mio as the top. (Also they're not switch if you read the anime. Shun doesn't like to top and he never does. Nevertheless, they're "equals" which is really nice)

If you really want something like this as a series, then you should try given. Even though the story the two have are completely different, the vibe the two give off felt the same for me; and the lit songs in given are a bonus. It is a really good bl romance anime with good music added to it. It is a series, but also has a movie for the other two characters in the same band as the main couple (Uenoyama x Mafuyu). I really recommend watching given. Do give it a try if possible.
