Kevin, I have been using the Power 3 (green edition) since March and you are spot on about what you get for the cost . This has been my daily driver and is the FIRST smart phone that I do not need to be concerned about battery life. For my needs, on screen time ranges anywhere from 9-11 hours and times between charges are 3 to 5 days without battery saver mode. The screen/ cameras/ Android 10/ build quality/ phone connectivity/ price ($160.00 US eBay Umidigi Store) and all included assesories have been excellent! Only negative so far is the speaker since last Umidigi OTA (two weeks ago) for improved stability; the speaker driver makes the sound distorted, tinny, and low volume. So, I sent email to Umidigi eBay store to help with any future fix and currently run Volume Booster & Equalizer in the background and my volume quality and loudness are better than before the update that hindered it. Thank you for your quality and in-depth videos on this category & price range of smart phones which I'm sure has benefited many people besides myself. Keep up the great work Kevin! @@arlesiodiamantino5727 the Power 3 does not have a glass back. It is made from polycarbonate which feels slightly gripper in my hand than other phone backs. But I keep it in the supplied black leather look back case cover which offers me even better grip, feel and of course protection. I wish it was transparent to show off the great green colour.

I've too recently noticed the distortion in the speaker mainly with Google assistant and KZbin. It doesn't affect Real Racing 3, thank goodness, because then I'd be really outraged 😆. I've encountered way too many niggles with this phone to put my sim card in to use it as my daily phone. Otherwise great hardware, poor software.

Hello I got mine this week. What temperature do you get when you charge your phone from less than 30%? Mine goes up to 43°C. It's noticably hot. I have not yet to chsrge it from below 30 percent. I wonder how hot it would be. Is this normal?

I love this phone. I was going to get the F2, but I tend drop phones, and with the glass back of the F2, I figure the power 3 may be a little more rugged. But I am very pleased. This phone is great.

I bought 2 umidig powers they have been great phones HOWEVER you cannot get good cases for these and my wife drops her phones constantly both are cracked...lol I'll replace her's with a samsung since i can get a full otterbox for it

Thanks for the great review. Damn, now I'm torn between the Umidigi X and the power 3. Great specs on both handsets. Important for me are battery life and camera so that's a big plus for the Power 3 but there again being a former Samsung user I do very much appreciate Amoled. The finger print sensor on the Power 3 looks to unlock quicker than the in screen sensor on the X. Live long and prosper Kevin!!!!!

I purchased inspite of a lot of negative comments on Amazon. Sadly after installing the update the audio got so bad calls became indecipherable so now I'm tomorrow going to install my sim into the Moto G Power. To me a phone is created around the battery and there's been almost nothing flagship that even interests me. The Galaxy ultra had a chance but blew it with bugs and missing features so I'm back to the lower tiers. I almost went for the Energizer 18k I forget the rest now. Finally a phone that challenged me but I need a more stable company situation to spend $800.00 and get a weird return policy! Good reviews Sir! Sincerely, BM

I had this phone for two months now upgrade from a Samsung A50, I have to say I like this phone so much better. I have had absolutely no issues whatsoever, The only exception would be the speaker. It's lackluster at best, I will say Bluetooth connectivity is great and also if you use a wired auxiliary cable sound quality is much betterobviously depending on what you have it plugged into, or have Bluetooth connected to, the LCD display is actually really good and honestly I see no difference between this and the amoled on the Samsung A50. Is it worth it? Absolutely especially for the price and features you get. 15 hours screen on time with moderate to heavy usage.

My phones operate much hotter in Brazil where only source of cooling is a circulating fan than where I have central air conditioning in the states which keeps the house around 73-78 depending on what I have it set at. I hope things get better in the Philippines and for Brazil. Both are considered 2nd world countries with a 3rd world economy. Sad how bad things can be. Most Americans have no idea how the rest of the world lives.

I'm using my Umidigi power 3 on Verizon. The trick is is to have an already active Verizon sim card. If you try to activate a sim with the IMEI of this phone Verizon will have conniption fits and come at you with garlic and crucifixes. Just activate the sim in an acceptable phone then put it in the Umidigi power 3. Also used an Umidigi A7 pro on Verizon.

I really like your videos Kevin you do a great job I just wish that you and other reviewers would mention audio quality and whether or not the phone is 5.0 Bluetooth I believe this phone might be 4.2 that would be a no go for me wouldn't be able to push true wireless earbuds properly. Kevin - Maybe you could help me out. I have the UMIDIGI POWER - andriod ver 9 and use Cricket as my carrier. Using Messages for text. Only problem is I cannot send pictures or group text. I receive both of them but cannot send them. What APN settings should I use. Went to Cricket store and the could not get it to work either. I have tried a few others as well but I thought I would ask you.

So far they work very good and they have that dark theme for Android 10 which is cool.. Hope this helps you and others out. 😊

I can get 2.5 days use on the battery. Takes surprisingly good pictures. A little color saturated like a Samsung but I like it. I would say it's on the heavy side of phones. This is my first Umidigi and I am impressed with value you get.

The only thing stopping me from getting the phone is security patches. Umidigi is terrible when it comes to updates, It just makes us as users feel safe, especially seeing my xiaomi redmi note 8 on March 2020 security update. Beautiful phone, and it's very solid. Literally the only negative I see with the phone. Wonderful review Kevin. If they do continue to update, I would love to see an update through your Instagram 🙂

I have the Umidigi A5 Pro. How does this run hardware-wise? I get that its a dirt cheap budget phone, but the camera on the Umidigi A5 pro is almost useless. Is the camera on this an improvement at least?

Spot on with the review. Personally, if you want to play music on the phone, the speaker is borderline average. But it's still a phone to have if you don't want to pay a premium price.

yeah, this value is a beast and with Droid 10 I would say that is the OS version with which it is enought to be with to have a modern look without getting a next big OS update (and budget phones like this usually stay on the OS version they came with)

Had to return it because of this virus thing making uncertainty in my job and income, but in the month I have used it it was great! Full note for anyone wondering: This fully works on Verizon and/or Visible. Supports every Verizon band and I had a Visible SIM in here for days going Pokemon Go hunting and data/GPS all that worked fine. Also battery life is by far the best I have ever had. 4 hours 45 minutes of nonstop Pokemon Go (wifi, as i was connected to a hotspot at that time, GPS on and screen max brightness) and end of day the battery had like 58% left! My iPhone or Pixel 2XL main phones would be lucky to get 3.5 hours before being in that battery saver 15% mode!

I'm going to be buying this phone in another month and i'm VERY curious to see how well OpenCamera will work on this with the denoise algorithm turned off, and photo quality at 100% and all that good stuff. Judging by the drastically improved photo quality with that app on my LG Stylo 3 Plus, I have a feeling this phone could be absolutely destrictive in the camera department for it's price with the right third party app installed

I love my Umidigi Power 3. I was worried about the camera's and processor at first. The processor is excellent. The cameras are not great but not terrible. I think that is what makes it a budget phone. Everything else has been great. Kind of like a budget version of a Pixel.

@Kevin Breeze Good video. On the Umidigi forums there are a lot of complaints about low volume OR all out volume loss on this phone. Have you experienced any of this? You should have did a speaker volume test. Can you incorporate that into your future videos?

I literally got my Power 3 yesterday and almost immediately had issues with the audio...as in no audio while watching media. I installed the latest update an it seems to have stoppefor now, so we'll see. Nonetheless there seems to be a lot of complaints online regarding the audio bug.

@@julietBravo210 I hear you man. I've read about this audio bug with this phone all over the Umidigi forums. How in the hell they released this phone without catching that? I have had the Umidigi F1 for 2 years and haven't had many problems with it. There's a solution on how to resolve that audio bug on one of those forums. Good luck!

@@sentinelo I have had volume loss problems with my Power 3 and saw the fix for disabling Ok Google. I tried it but like the convenience of having Google assistant. What I do is use ok Google to open multiple apps until the sound reappears. It is often faster to do it this way than restarting the phone but is a major pain having to do it in the first place. Because of this I don't use this phone with a sim. I still rely on my oppo A83 for that. Apart from that I love this phone which I use for Real Racing 3 and www surfing amongst other things. I have seen many reviews of this phone and none mentioned the volume loss issue.

Sound cuts out, it got fixed with update but at times the sound sounds analog but the worst issue and I see this with every Umidigi are either the GPS, compass, or proximity sensor. It's annoying. How you receive perfect Umidigis every time is astounding. Or maybe......

I have been using my Umidigi Power 3 for the past 7 months (since August 2020) AND I am ready to replace it! Pros: Great battery, good screen, good price, plenty of features. Cons: Weak reception so not ideal for rural areas, no android updates, bug with sound, fragile (dropped it from 50cm in a case but screen cracked right through the front camera rendering it useless). Opinion: This is not a Samsung, Nokia or Huawei, it is a USD$170 second tier Chinese phone, and you are getting exactly that PLUS a hefty opportunity cost. If you can afford $50 more; get a Samsung A series or similar.

Heh, my LG V50's last security patch was on the exact same day. 🙄 Only cost 7x what the umigidi does and my carrier has yet to deploy the android 10 update as well. 🙄🙄

That's exactly why I decided to go cheap this time around. My last few phones were plus 500 USD. So it's crazy what you can get now for 200 or less. The luxury end of the market will start gathering less people so that only the 1% can afford it. Apple and Samsung seem to be heading that way. They'll be the new Vertu phones that Nokia used to make back in the day.

How long does it take to charge your phone with the supplied 18 watt charger? If it is less than 2 hours it is fast charging. I tried it using a standard usb socket and it took over 18 hours to fully charge from flat.

I have been using this phone for 4 months now. I am in Australia. This is all accurate however I dohave a few issues. The screen is poorly visable in direct sunllight. I have a sound issue..... my sound sometimes turns off and I have to call myself to turn it back on. It happens regularly. This could just be my phone. Umidigi are quiet responsive as I registered it as an issue. All in All, a great phone for the price

I have the Blu Vivo X6 which is the same phone as the G60 that you just mention in your comment. The Blu G70 is a little bigger and haves a different display with it's camera cutout hole on the top of the screen. It's a pretty good phone for the price, the battery lasts awhile on a full charge. I get around 4 hours on the battery life with the phone. I really don't have any completes about the phone so far..

Camera isn't great but it's great bang for your bucks mid range phone, I have Umidigi X and S3 pro wish they did flagships because they have great band range, But downside is they almost never have updates or UI features like Xiaomi or Oppo etc

Bought this because the wifi calling and volte actually work on T-Mobile. Had issues with lots of other Chinese phones. So far so good paid 179$ off eBay USA store came in a week. Sold my s10 and downgraded to this. Not much of a downgrade for what I do other then I wish the ear piece was also a speaker like the s10.

been waiting for this for 63 days today... ordered mid february, took 35 days to ship and after it was shipped, well the world aint working because of coronavirus so it hasnt moved from the shipping warehouse since then... anyyway all reviews hint at a beast phone with 2.5 problems 1-camera and mainly the video which is herendous... my 5 year old phone (that then cost 99$ seems to give better output...) 2-u cant expect updates from umdigi and especially to receive android 11 ever... 2.5- the speaker (people have a problem with this sometimes... but i never had a complain with any my phones on sound, while others complained so i guess this wotn affect me either...)

@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. i have had the phone for just over 3 months so let me tell u all m experiences with it and u can decide. I will obviously name the negative ones more, but will try to balance them at the end with an overall opinion. SO, first the positive "problems" -the battery lasts me so long that when i run low i forget to charge the phone... ( i mean longgg). I sometimes goe maybe 4 or 5 days without chraging it. and because i get used to tossing the phone on the table when i get home, i forget to charge it... I always have wifi & data turned on, sometimes location (maybe average 2 hours per charge session). I usually have a moderate use (my last phone was terribel with battery so i got used to using a phone less), but there are times that i use the phone too much. in those cases u will need to charge every 1.5 -2 days. -both positive and negative, it is actually pretty big. a friend bought the samsung galaxy s20, and this thing is cinsiderably bigger, i was surprised how small that looked. it is also pretty fat (meaning thick), and when u put it in a case (it comes with one but i like wallet cases so i bought one from ebay) it becomes really thick. TO the negative ones: -All chinese phones have very few or 0 updates. I bought the umidigi A5 PRO for afamily member and that phone that works great gets 3 times more updates than this one... (and this one ahs some problems i will metnion below. so dont expect much to change compared to the unit u will get. -To the cameras... photos actually look great in daylight. great. in night they become a bit more average and night mode either does nothing to help or improves up to 5%... but compared to 2 friends with samsung s7 and s8, the night photos beat the s7, and are very close to s8 (some times better some times worse). -VIDEO is terrible. the processor allows only 1080p 30fps and it is still terrible. It continuously tries to focus even when it is focused, with the result being 2/3 of the timevideo is out of focus. in very strong daylight it is barely acceptable. there is no real stabilisation... (i dont use IG or fb stories, but for those kind of short vids focus-defocus becomes like an efe and isnt a problem, but anything else video is bad) to be honest i ude the video only in skype and messenger videocalls and there is acceptabble for some reason...) -also u cant install the google cam apps without rooting the phone... ( i havent done it yet, so no opinions on that) -when the phone launched there was a big general problem with AUDIO. for some reason when u used someof the google assistant services u lost all sound until u rebooted the device. THEY FIXED it, but the fix has cause some smaller problems: +asssistant cant hear me half of the times (microphone seems to be getting muted when launching it, but not always, about 1/2 of the time). +gboard microphone is never working for the talk and write function... +microphone always works for phone usage, skype, messenger, viber, whatsapp (no problems there). +BIGGEST AUDIO PROBLEM (and overall problem for me) when using headphones with cable, about 20% of the times phone cant distinguish if they are just headphones or handsfree (with mic) and result is if using them to talk it cant figure which mic to use (from device or the external one...). this problem only is an issue with apps. for the phone app it works normal always. also for bluetooth headphones there is the same issue btu 100% of the times, so u cant talk on messenger/skype/viber with BT headphones (at least the 2 pairs i ahve tried are problematic). +last audio problem, the speaker is quite bad. btoh of them actually earpice/speaker they dont have loud volume and the speaker isnt very clear... everything working normal: -screen is great!!! an big!!! and 1080p which is more than enough (u can always have 2k screens, but this resolution is enough with a great sreen) brightness is good (not great. under direct sunlight u can see the creen, but not with sunglasses like other phones can...) -processor great, handles every kind of heavy game i have tried as a benchmark (heats up, but not too much in 20-30 minutes) -ram sufficient charging may be too fast (meaning phone gets HOT when charging between 20%-75%.) it takes around 3 hours for 0-100%, but 10-75% i think is around 40 minutes. as always last 20% take more than 1 hour, but i recomend always go to 100% because phone batteris in general and this specific one are designed to be calibrateed after every charge, so if u go to 100%, every single one percent last longer and the same amount of time) i got the phone for 140euros and it was a great price. problems where a bit more than i expected. i knew about the video, and the sound clarity, but wasnt expecting the mic problems (that become an issue with the fix for the original problem). i got the phone about 70 days after ordering it, so original problem with sound was already solved. do i recomend it? yes IF u dont use video too much ( i dont) and u dont talk too much on apps like skype/messenger/viber with headphones. these 2 seem to be my biggest problems.

Umidigi Power 3. Definately a beautiful phone, large screen and packed with features and extras. But make no mistake, it costs USD$180 because it is a $180 phone. No, it is not a Samsung or a Huawei or an iPhone, and No, you are not buying an Audi for the price of a Skoda! I had my Power 3 for approximately 6 months. It has a fantastic battery that could last 2 days, great screen, but it is a little too heavy. I have not received any software/firmware updates, and I have found it a little fragile as on the one time that I dropped it from approx 80cm with a leather flip case, the screen cracked from left to right. Overall a good buy for $180. Would I buy it again? Probably next time I will opt for the sturdier Umidigi Bison, or spend $100 more and buy a Samsung.

I got mine for $150 and am pretty happy with it before the last update I was not really able to watch 1080p 60fps on KZbin but it's fine after the update a week or 2 ago and the audio does some weird stuff sometimes but a call fixes it and sometimes I have to reboot it to get the wifi to stay connected but the battery is awesome and the camera is great but I don't take many pictures and screen looks great and I have dropped it a couple times and the screen protector that came on it is a little dinged but fine

Main sensor (48MP) is made by Samsung. Idk about the others tho.

@@tiagomachado5360 The 16MP sensor on the selfie is Samsung too. The other ones are listed as unknown. The 48 and 16MP take great photos in good light conditions. I tried the 48MP camera with only street lights for illumination and it took fantastic pictures. The lower sensors did not fare so well in comparison.

I've had this phone for a week now I bought the phone after I did an extensive 2 months of research on budget phone. The power 3 was the high rated one . My impression on the phone this far is as follows. The Cons. Too big and heavy Sound quality not that great Not super fast Takes forever to charge Pros Great price Position of the notch Full display Decent camera Overall im not over the moon for buying this phone if I had to re do I would've went with Samsung A51 despite a $100 price difference. The weight really bothers me .

The colors available are Gray, Green and Red. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about, there isn't "several" other colors and there never were. No idea where he even got that from to begin with *itches head*. Anyways this phone is amazing, and the battery life is incredible.
