Explain how whenever Shannon dies, Kanon vanishes as well. Explain who killed Dr. Nanjo in Episode 3 even though everyone else was dead or confirmed to have not done it. Good jod. Guess what Umineko character you're most like? Erika. She also didn't care about the actual story, she only wanted an "answer" and she happily ignored anything she didn't like, made up an answer, and stuck with it until she was proven wrong.

The truth of an event changes from person to person and that there can be no real truth since it varies so much. This point is reinforced time and time again. But in the end, what is it that Ryukishi wants to tell the readers? What he wants is to show us is that when we have to look at everything from all perspectives. This is even reinforced with Kyrie's chessboard thinking where she looks at a problem not only from her point of view but also the culprits.

Think about it, in Episode 2, Shannon and Kanon spent alot of time walking to the special VIP room between appearances to the family, never together around others besides the servants (minus Gohda, with the exception of Episode 2 and 4 where it's possible that he was threatened to go along with everything) Also Bernkastel's tiny game in EP8 was still a game and followed the base for all other games, just simplified. When Shannon dies, (honestly) Kanon is considered dead.

You can easily dismiss them being there because Shannon is POINTED OUT to be quiet. The Rosa culprit theory has lots of assumptions, so just to protect Shkannon... Why don't we assume Erika was too busy focusing on Natsuhi? As I said before, Shannon the entire time is said to be quiet. It even states in the narration that "Shannon says nothing." Something of the sort.
@asterthebastard7 жыл бұрын
[MAJOR SPOILERS HERE @ NEW FOLKS, though that's kind of a moot point in this comment section by now...] Shannon stays quiet the entire time, if I remember correctly. Also, the EP 8 manga explains that Erika mistakenly assumed Kanon and Shannon both existed because at one point the narrative said "everyone in the mansion is in the parlor". That narration included both Shannon and Kanon, so Erika thought they both existed there. What she neglected to notice was that the narration was from Battler's point of view, and that Battler was not an objective piece in that arc (I'm assuming we're talking about EP 5). This, combined with the fact that Shannon and Kanon had perfect alibis for never being together, convinced Erika that they were actually two separate people with two bodies. So she carried out all of her detective work based on that pretense.

I personally believe that except for the part where they're physically the same. You know how there was a philosophy that males have an anima and females have an animus (In other words, Inner Female/Male) I believe that Yasu is indeed a female, and Kanon, not only her Manifestation of self hatred/not deserving to be loved, is also her animus, making him male. And since when it is stated when Shannon dies, so does Kanon, I believe that Shannon is closest to the original.

But at the same time what he also seems to say is that you can go with any view as long as you think about it and therefore creates your own truth. This is probably the reason for Ryukishi's rather nasty Take That in Ep 8. He did that because those people who demanded the truth didn't understand it. They only wanted to be told which would mean hearing one person's truth instead of creating their own, the opposite of what he wanted to tell us.

@cronnoponno Err, my interpretation of Episode 2 (the one with the fake kanon, i think that's the one you mean) is Yasu has one body, but two+ personalities. The fake Kanon was just Beato playing with Battler's head. Furthermore, Will points out that the cousins' have two sets of memories. The Lion-World and Yasu-World memories. Jessica was mentioning something Yasu-World when she's supposed to be Lion-World. Maria does the same thing. They switch when Will asks about Beatrice.
@matsuoakatsu11 жыл бұрын
1)From the human side, how can you trust Maria, since Beatrice exist and does magic? And i don't remember her telling this, but to see them together doesn't necessarily include "in different bodies". 2)Having different servants at different days makes it more difficult, given also the size of the place, for someone to actually see two servants together. 3)The way servants are paid isn't explained, if i remember, and why would Natsuhi and Krauss know this secret? If they did, all would mess up

There are 16 people. I read online that they keep insisting 17 people but since the whole game is a chess metaphor. There are 16 chess pieces therefore there are 16 people even if it's stated in red. The chess metaphor is used multiple times. I can't recall if Natsuhi is in charge of the key or if it was Genji. If Genji is in charged of giving the keys to the servants, then it's possible for Yasu to have two keys under the two personalities... Except that's contradicting. -_-

And about things we don't know anything about. Otherwise, no, it is not so clear. Of course if you don't care about the annoying parts, just assume that some things are the truth, period, and don't care about the alternatives, yeah, it is a clear and obvious answer, period. But if you want to look at it SERIOUSLY, it's not that easy.
