Been following Umphreys since 2011 they are the best. Drove from calif. To Colorado to lick it in the hot tubs in Glenwood springs then drove through a blizzard to Chicago and did all four nights on New year's. 2017-2018 all I can say is they leave the best memories in my mind. One of many new years. Not going to miss them again like this year

Umph rocks live. They rock in my car. They rocked at Stubbs bar. I think that there aren't too many bands that jump from genre to genre like Umph while simultaneously rocking your pants off. Avid fans who have heard their stretch of sounds across all releases know full well what I'm referring to. if this song doesn't grab you, fine. but check out an album or two and you'll h'ears what i'm saying.

I highly disagree, after following umphrey's on tour for the last 8 years and many shows for years before that I will agree with they jammed and sounded very original back then, but the second they come on now, all I think is "hell yeah its umphs" even if i dont know which song it is yet. Sucks that you base your entire opinion of umphrey's on comparing to a good '02 concert. UMPHLOVE.

sullytyme1972 As far as I can tell (and i'm not going to dig too deep into them) most of the negative comments on here are "I felt compelled to give this band another chance and it still isn't doing it for me" In a world where there is an infinite amount of art you can consume at any point, it should be pretty heartwarming that there are still people out there willing to give a band multiple chances to see if it clicks for them. I mean, I could have spent the last 20 minutes listening to any of the tens of thousands of obscure records clogging my external hard drive, maybe I'd find yet another band mixing complex composition and improvisation in a way that jamband kids would adore. Instead I decided to see if I was feeling Umphreys enough to see them yet again. I'm not.

Jake Cinninger is one of the baddest guitar players on the planet if not the best. The man can do it all. The whole band is epic musicians. Jake steps forward and they go up a key when jamming I read somewhere. Steps back and he goes down a key. Creativity is pretty much unmatched.

haha i totally fell asleep at phish. I was spoiled cuz umph was the first band i ever saw live, also the first time i ever did LSD ... halloween 2008, the warfield. SF. Epic. Plus I've seen them 50+ times live by now so i know it wasn't jus the "drugs". BEST BAND EVER. They just have a style that sucks you in... the way they layer the subtle undertones atop one another until you have this intricate masterpiece, unique to that moment, that jam, that venue, that dose etc etc. conjures up the butterflies i felt the first time i heard it. No matter how many times you may hear that particular version of that song and thought you had every note mapped out, you hear something you didnt hear before.. this band never stops amazing me.. i don't owe them my life, but i wouldn't be where i am without UMPHREYS MCGEE.

I admit what there doing is hard, especially with crazy lights going off and a crowd in front of yeah, but I don't like rhythm changes for the sake rhythm changes. I will say as far as a jam band goes these are the only guys worth checking out from time to time. Seen at least 12 times. People talking about getting messed up to have a good time at a concert saddens me. I love music and usually have to avoid some nut job ruining the show for me with nonsense. I believe I was one of 20 people not high at a Floyd show in the 80's. Boy, did they miss something special. Saw UM when they came to Covington Ky. Itt was great. Had to circumvent weird chicks hoola-hooping and tripping into everyone. If I wanted to get tore down and party, I'd do that in the back yard.

I was going to be at this show but that got screwed up thanks to family drama bullshit. I was especially pissed to find out that this show was being filmed for a DVD release. I always wanted to be at a concert that was also being filmed for a DVD. And I ALMOST got to cross that off of my bucket list. Can't see them at Red Rocks this year because I spent a ton to see rush in Tulsa, OK for R40. Definitely didn't want to miss out on what could possibly be Rush's last tour. Especially after the previous Rush show I saw(which was also at Red Rocks) suffered from technical problems. Plus Umphrey's McGee still have many more years left than Rush does. I know Rush won't be going at it for much longer. I'd be surprised to see one more tour from Rush. Hopefully, I'll get to see Umphrey's at Red Rocks next year. I've already seen umphrey's twice. Both shows were at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. And I got an autograph from Bayliss back in 2011 :D
