6 months later but I got your answer. The move he used was the tagout special when you knock an enemy in the air. I assume you have basic understandings of marvel so I don't need to explain that, correct me if I'm wrong. But anyway, because he used it on the assist, it doesn't tag him out. He kept doing it so it would ground bounce the assist into another hit. The special animation that usually plays before you switch to another ally is that flashing and noise.
