The servos may feel different to you, because they're linear servos, whereas most planes use rotary servos. I believe the UMX Pitts has linear servos also. I think this is going to be my next plane. Thanks for the content.

Watching all these videos, I'm seeing that the battery hatch opens in flight or during landings. The hatch is a great addition as long as the battery maintains cooling but may be a hassle with it popping open all the time.

After having flown it, I agree! I still think the battery hatch is a good idea but I think there should have been a better locking mechanism instead of just a small magnet.

I have about a dozen flights on mine and a couple hard landings and the hatch has never opened on me.

Hi! Yes! That is very normal. The down thrust is to compensate for drag on the airframe, and the right thrust is compensate for the plane naturally yawing left from thrust. You can read more about it here: www.balsaworkbench.com/?page_id=2714

Great flying bird man, very fast as well, do you think it is as quick as the Pitts im trying to decide between the two ?

I believe this bird is as fast or possibly even faster than the Pitts, but take that with a grain of salt as I haven't flown the Pitts in some time. They are both catered for sport and light 3D, but the Pitts has a higher roll rate due to the nature of it being a biplane, making it more maneuverable during aerobatics. Happy flying!

Hey man love your videos i was wondering if there is a way you can help me out im just beginning with this hobby and dont know how to get safe mode programed on my dx6e idk what im doing basically

Safe mode is controlled on 5th channel (gear channel) of your radio. Position 0 (gear down) is SAFE mode 1 (up) is AS3X mode. I don't have the manual for your radio but it's pretty much straight forward. However, do set your 6th channel for throttle cut. Just another line of protection. With SAFE on, if with the airplane bound you pick it up, hold it on it's side 90 degrees, the ailerons will hold deflection till you return it to upright, level flight. You'll need to advance the throttle to 25% for that to take action, that or AS3X. Tell ya the truth mine seems to be active on AS3X all the time without throttle throw. On rare occasions OR by accident, you can turn the SAFE mode off. With your rates set to 100% and your throttle cut off power on your transmitter, poser on your aircraft, hold both sticks to inside bottom corner gimbal (full up elevator and left aileron and 0% throttle and full right rudder (Mode 2)) Toggle the gear switch up and down 5 times. This will turn SAFE mode OFF or On. It's page 5 of your book in the bottom half. If you're plane never is in SAFE mode by doing the rotating test its possible yours doesn't have SAFE on. I'm assuming you here the twitching of the servos all the time you're moving the airplane though. OH, bottom right corner says DXe and DXS Tranmsitters - Switch A is the FMODE switch on these transmitters, and the switch needs to be toggled between position 0 and 2 when disabling/enabling SAFE Select. Probably needs 0 or 2 for ON and OFF as well, check that first. (side note, typed that whole bit while reading it from the manual and it doesn't seem to have errors. To think, that typing class I took in High School 42 years ago actually worked? My typing instructor would be proud, if she wasn't hell bent for me and the other guys in the classroom NOT to be there because we were taking valuable skill training time away from her girls. Very old school that one.

Hi! I have no experience with the Tattu 450 mah batteries but I’m fairly sure they would not fit. The battery this plane was designed around (spektrum 2s/3s 300) already barely fits in the bottom hatch. I do have a couple Tattu batteries and they are generally larger batteries than most brands. Like I said they *might* fit but probably not.
