Also at 3:54 you said it was a glass screen, but it appears to be plastic, as it scratches at the press of a fingernail which is what plastic scratches at, while glass scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7 (Waiting for a jerryrigeverything fan to laugh at that)

It's glass, just cheap glass. Decently sturdy though

I had one, the phone was, bad, at first, but it somehow got worse, the phone would come with these annoying notifications from this news thing that would just annoy you, when I would open chrome it would send me to some weird game website, then I would be unable to send messages or make calls, but I could receive calls, the phone would get extremely hot, I'm assuming they used a VERY crappy battery so that's to be expected, the budget TCL I got blew that phone off the earth in performance.

I got this phone and it was horrible, but an amazing thing happened. I ordered new phones and service from mint mobile. I couldn't make any calls, the phones I ordered were over $300 each. Tried everything, finally sent phones back. For shots and giggles put sim card in the free assurance wireless umx phone. Guess what? It works like a charm, I can make and recieve calls, texts too. Mind you, I couldn't do any of that when I first got the phone.

I've had two of them and the phone is okay. But the problem is the battery swelling up.😊

I just got one of these from Assurance wireless ,who is now with T- Mobile. I sent the last one back because it was junk and I'm going to send this back as well.

Saved a similar UMX from a pawn shop, thinking of using its android to my power and unlocking it for use as a backup on straight talk.

I had the umx693cl and assurance wireless is still on I think another carrier bought them out because my umx was assurance wireless by cintex wireless

Its trippy watchimg this review on the phone beong reviewed. Yeah, I agree, its far from the best, but it's mostly good enough for what I use it for, I wouldnt dare sign into my primary Google account though

assurance is still operating... their tech support is the worst i have ever encountered. my u693cl is a beast especially as a hot spot. the only quality issue i've had is the battery will swell up big and replacements are not very good.

I've been using this phone for three or four years now. The only problem I've had is somehow I picked up some malware and had to do a factory reset.

Had one and it was _pretty_ sturdy. Then it had overheating problems. I opened it up to a swollen battery.

I'm attempting to tether this phone to my Nintendo but it doesn't connect but it works on other devices. But I don't think I've had a smart phone I liked in over 10 years. Not since the Nokia I used. It had buttons. I love buttons. Will this phone connect to a Nintendo switch or is my reception to low? It's bad out here.

I ran a speed test and it's dl is almost 2 and ul is .6. I don't think that's enough bandwidth but this phone could pull it off if it did have the bandwidth.

The UMX 696 so bad. To start the performance is underperforming the volume is low even on speakers the screen cracks by itself. As U S. government issued communications apparatus it should be advisable for the gov to use better phones at least not entirely Chinese

the government doesn't issue the phones and has nothing to do with the selection. they only pay for the service. I had one -- no screen cracks although volume was low too. headphone volume was normal. all in all I was quite pleased with a FREE phone.

hey just an FYI, Assurance Wireless is not dead, since Spirit was bought by T-mobile, Assurance Wireless now runs on T-mobile's Network.

I agree with u UMX phones are really slow and they don't have good camera I would rather choose other andorid devices or iPhone devices over this

I just got this phone today with service, so I'm not sure what you mean about it never being able to have service and assurance wireless is no longer a thing. The phone is horrible but a lot of false information in this video

The worst phone I ever used was an Optus Sight phone made by ZTE. It is a phone you can buy in Australia for $99 AUD. It runs Android 11 Go Edition which is pathetically slow and laggy. Google Maps doesn't work properly on it and it does not give directions in real time. The screen is fragile as hell and it cracks easy. I accidentally dropped it a few times and the screen is barely usable on it. It is also locked with Optus so it can only run on Optus phone plans. I have a ZTE phone from 2015 that is a lot better than the Optus Sight.

I haven't had and issue with it yet and its 2023 I'd use it over buying a 1000$ iPhone and I have small hands so edges don't bother me

I have a UMX currently it is pretty old and works kind good but also bad it need restarted everyday and there's SO many games I can't download but that's only some downsides
