Taeyong is so impressive and inspiring. Everyday I'm amazed by him. He did not have a background in music at all before joining SM at 18. He was not exposed to any music-related training at all before that. Exposure to anything during earlier age help a lot with one's skillset and ability to learn new things on top of a basic foundation. For someone with zero music / rap / dance / entertainment until 18, it is beyond impressive how far he has gone. He went from a "blank page" (a SM trainer called him this) to someone who not only excels during his parts but also guides and trains others.

This seems to align with when he was recruited to SM at 18. If he transferred to SOPA after he was recruited by SM (which makes sense) he truly had no music exposure before that. On an episode of Happy Together (a variety show) Taeyong mentioned that when he was recruited by SM he had no idea that SM is a big entertainment company (along with YG and JYP). He thought the Big 3 entertainment companies are SBS, KBS and MBC which are major TV channels in South Korea. I am not familiar with the singing competitions; I'm curious do you have links? I believe Taeyong does not have a brother but he has an older sister.

Taeyong really enjoyed this song. In the MV, he looked like he was enjoying himself in every scene. On stages, he performed with such charisma and more freely as if he wasn't performing but just wilding to himself. there's no one talking about jaehyun and i'm gonna fix that. jaehyun's voice is SO warm and soothing, it sounds like a warm hug. he did an amazing job recording make a wish, being able to manipulate his voice to suit the mood of the song and also, improve on his lines to ensure he presents only the best to us. HIS RANGE is incredible like at 1:51, he was able to leap up a whole octave and still sing with ease. his voice is so beautiful and underappreciated. i feel like nctzens only focus on his visuals, which are, without need to mention, amazing but his vocal ability and talent are right there and should be applauded too.

Have u noticed Taeyong normally records once only? Professionalism. Also, for someone who doesn't even know anything, literally a blank paper, and debuted in the age of 18 to become an ACE now is insane I would say. Taeyong just debuted 4 years back and I'm beyond proud of the fact he is now being looked up by Junior idols and getting praised left and right by industry professionals in all skills that he has. It's incredible and amazing. He is indeed an absolute ACE and of course PILLAR of NCT. Not forgetting the word which came out from the legend Taemin itself that Taeyong is the Master of Concept. I also love how Taeyong is so versatile being able to adapt by many functions or abilities. This consists of there work ethic, vocal switch up and ability to multi-task in complex situations. There are a few versatile rappers in the music industry and Taeyong could be named as one. SM really hit a massive Jackpot with Taeyong by baiting him with just a TOAST, lol. They better treat him like a KING as he is SM's rare diamond. Lastly, Get Well Soon Taeyong and come back stronger than before.
