Since I'm stuck at home during this corona virus pandemic, I have decided to listen to all of Verdi's operas in chronological order. Yesterday, I listen to Oberto - very beautiful - an today I'm listening to Un giorno di Regno. I have no idea why this was not a success; the overture is absolutely delightful and the rest makes wonderful listening not to mention what a great cast this recording has. So have I. And it is proving to be a treat. I am actually doing what I term Operaerobics, exercising on the cross-trainer to one scene (not Act) of each opera. Yesterday, completed Oberto. Enjoy!

How can one be expected to listen to an opera when there is two ad interruptions in the first 11 minutes, and obviously a lot more to come. Going to another option - no subscription from me!
