The "Z" is "shielded", whereas the "2RS" is "sealed" Thanks for the tip! Especially the brush retainer

Thanks for the video! Your new bearings are sealed under pressure to keep contaminants out. Good Job!

Thx for putting this video together, great job and very helpful. My experience was a bit different. After I blew out the dust and upgraded the bearings it still squeaked. I took it apart again and smoothed down the commutator with fine sandpaper. This did the trick - we'll see how long it lasts. It would have been great if they had used a brushless motor.

Excellent! I look forward to your video on a remedy for the rattling (and banging) noise that the fan unit makes while driving over bumps.

I just did this yesterday. Squeak gone! I did find that it was easy to take the two screws holding the little plastic piece where the cable exits in and out from the roof of the van with the vent open.

But it did come back…. Haven’t taken it back apart again. Has yours stayed quiet? Not sure if it was the bearings or just the cleaning. I did get 10 sets of bearings, so will try again when I get the motivation.

How is this working out almost a year later? Did the squeaking ever return?

so far so good. it still runs as squeak-free as it did after putting the new bearings in

QQ - just wanted to confirm on the bearings.. you used 6203-2RS correct? Thx!
@orange136 ай бұрын
no.the correct size is 608 which means it has an outside diameter of 22mm, an inside (shaft) diameter of 8mm and a width of 7mm. because the new ones I used have a seal on both sides, they also have a 2RS in their name: 608-2RS. 6203-2RS are way too big, they have an OD of 40mm, an ID of 17mm and a width of 12mm

@@orange13 ok thx. The screen shot you showed had the 603 highlighted.

@@justinolympia okay, my bad, that was more a reference to the seal than the bearing size
