Loved the interview with Moana. I, too, was on the road and met these 'kids' before they were the Jets. Fantastic family and values. Their music is beyond compare. I just love them and so happy for their continued success.

Loved the Jets. They never got the credit they deserved . For me they were better than a lot of artist they opened for. I think they deserve a star on the walk of fame.

I grew up listening to the Jets and still enjoy listening to their music. Elizabeth had such a soulful and mature voice that is quite impressive. Moana was so articulate and gracious. It saddens me that they did not reach superstar status like the Jackson’s and the Osmond’s but they nevertheless left a lasting legacy on music!

Had I been the manager, I would have had the Jets following Janet Jackson's career. Elizabeth is a better singer than Janet but Janet had Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I I would have found producers that would emulate that their sound. It would have given the Jets 10 more years of hits. They have a band, Moana singing backup and Elizabeth had a dope voice. They could have continued. Shoulda made me manager. 😂

I’m Johnny from the James Brown show. We had a day off in Phoenix (actually, three consecutive days before we were supposed to leave for a three week tour of Europe and Great Britain 🇬🇧 and the Arizona State Fair was going strong so me and two other band members decided to go out and get some fresh air and enjoy the atmosphere! It just so happens that the free concert (free with admission) was The Jets! We headed on over the the Colosseum where they were well into their set. Now, unless you have ever been to a James Brown show, you have no idea what a real loud but affective Soundsystem can do. It adds to the dynamic experience. However, as soon as we walked into the building the ear piercing sound of the Jets was so uncomfortable we never even got a seat! There must’ve been about 12,000 in the Colosseum and that was the maximum capacity. I guess whoever was handling the soundboard just decided to kick everything up to the max and let the show go on! There were several people that had their hands over their ears. It was honestly so uncomfortable not to take anything away from this amazing group, but the acoustics in that old concrete building needed some special TLC. I guess we stayed for about five minutes and then we went out and walked up and down the midway. Mr. Brown started his career with nothing more than a megaphone! But he was a perfectionist in everything that had his name on it, so when we signed with VOX And they supplied everything on that stage! If you look at some of the old live albums, you will see VOX amplifiers, and both of the drum kits were VOX. We had monitors all throughout the stage, so it was easy to tell what was going on with the audience. We would not overdo it or drown out any of the vocals until he Took command, and we followed suit. We are approaching the 18th anniversary of his death. 18 years seems like three weeks ago! We were already in New York setting up at the house of blues (BB King‘s blues club) for a Christmas Eve party and concert. We had a few dates booked at the Apollo and some other regular spots that we played in that area. When we got the news the first thing that happened was To call home and tell our wives to hide all the expensive presents because they were definitely going back for a refund. When your entire professional career hinges on the heartbeat of one mortal human being you sadly realize what a fragile existence you have! We all think we’re going to live 100 years, but in this business everything is abstract. Living out of a suitcase is a very unhealthy way to survive, eating at fast food joints up and down the highway and chain smoking 🚬 etc… every day is a toss of the dice.
