Fun video: it's obvious you had a good time doing it & the place seems wonderful I landed on your blog by chance. A couple of questions: 1-Would you recommend Unawatuna for a 50ish yo woman travelling alone? I'm recently widowed, and trying to find my sea legs to resume enjoying fun tropical beaches. I've lived in Thailand several yrs, traveled alone in many places from Indonesia to Taiwan , so I don't scare easily & LOVE meeting local ppl but I just don't want to be heckled all the time nor worry about my stuff on the beach as I swim around (ex: Kuta in Bali's atrocious, but it's fine if you go to more remote beaches, or other Indonesian islands altogether, Thailand & Malaysia are also great for a woman alone imho the Sinai as well, but I wouldn't travel to Brazil or Jordan alone). 2- Is the water visibility good? I just want want to snorkel for hours, read a good book under the sun & resume scuba diving (if scuba's not too pricey in Sri Lanka), in between simple decent meals : ) Maybe visting temples or walking around if rainy day. I'm not at all looking for a very busy vacation: quiet, yet food and drinks within walking distance. Doesn't need to be a deserted place, esp since I don't drive: "regular" noise doesn't bother me but I'm seeking low key and local (no club med or packs of tourist Karaoke!!!). 3- Any beach bungalows you'd recommend, that fits the description? Many thanks! And I hope Ben recovered from his elbow wound : ( Tried surfing & windsurfing twice each, but both boards kept telling me that underwater's more my thing lol If you haven't yet, water-skying's surprisingly fun though, and extremely tiring contrary to what it looks like from the shore!

@@nyx6937 Frankly, I just learned of her earlier today. I was perusing a list of KZbin deaths (as I am keen to view morbidity) and came upon her story. Very sad. RIP indeed.
