Unbagging Video - From the 1-20-24 'BARBIE BONANZA' Thrift Store Vlog

Hello, fellow doll lovers! Welcome to another video!
This is the UNBAGGING VIDEO to the thrift store vlog I uploaded last week. Today, I will be giving you all a closer look at my findings, which is mostly Barbie, and a few other fun odds and ends, including super detailed miniature doll food! I love miniature things, so I couldn’t pass it up, and it’s so cool and super detailed, down to real folded paper napkins!
I spent Christmas break in my hometown this year, which is a little different than normal. However, I had to take the opportunity to visit some thrift stores that I haven’t been to in quite some time, because it isn’t break without thrifting! I’d say it was a very fruitful haul, and I am so excited to add all these girls to my collection.

Love the Holiday Barbie....The curvy Fashionita is lovely....Love the lilac doll she is fashionitas 136 Dream often with wrong body and then you get her with her orginal body........so many lovely and cute dolls!!!

The "twin" doll with the molded on top was rebodied from a Fashionista. I think another one might have been as well, so they may have all been from a previous owner that did some experimentation.

*Polypropylene, not nylon. Nylon is widely considered to be an excellent hair fiber, used by eg Rainbow High and LOL OMG.

Yes, there are a lot of people out there who enjoy it! Poly and nylon are so similar in texture and appearance that I usually just group them together, but I am aware that they are different. Sorry for the confusion! I don’t really prefer poly either…it crimps up when encountering any kind of tangle that you try and brush out, and even out of the box brand new there are often lots of those kinky strands without having even touched them yet. They do both feel very nice when it is pristine, and are a quality fiber, I just don’t prefer them to saran. :)

@@ballerinadolllover2434 As far as I know, Mattel doesn't use nylon at all, just polypropylene and saran (and formerly kanekalon), and poly is mostly used for the fantasy colors. It's considered the lowest grade hair fiber on the market, so it's not really comparable to nylon. Nylon can easily be flat ironed, whereas poly melts very easily. I've encountered different grades of both poly and nylon and sometimes they can be confused, but poly just won't bounce back from play or stress at all like nylon or saran can. A lot of people are quite sour about Barbie and Monster High integrating poly out of nowhere in recent years - especially with some of the collector dolls, which should be a total no go.
