If you stop the video on the frame where the ball enters the barrel (especially ball #2) the ball is almost as large as the opening in the top of the barrel. The barrel would have to be no more than a foot and a half or so in diameter although you can tell from their distance from the camera that they seem to be full-sized barrels. The descent of the ball seems too fast as well.

I'm a video editor too and I had to confirm Ana Alves' comment that the trash is just put in the frames after this shooting the video. TO VERIFY this you must click the video's settings and set the Speed to 0.25 then set the Quality to 720p HD... Then observe closely the video at 0:00 to 0:03... play the video and observe the Trash can in the far distance just above David Beckham. You'll see that as he bend over to get the ball, he passed his head over the Can's image, at 0:02 it disappeared, the editors purposely did that so that it will not overlay on top of Beckhams head as he moved to stands upright.
