I like the concept, I don't like the fact that they're using materials they didn't make themselves. Termite clay doesn't turn orange like standard clay, and they're using cement to seal the bricks together. It's still cool to watch, just feels a little deceptive.

They were using termite clay for the first bricks, yet when they came out of their kiln fired, they were deep orange just like standard clay. Maybe if you paid more attention to what I was saying, and less about how insulted you were by my comment you'd realize what I was talking about. I came to this video to watch dudes create something from nothing. It's deceptive because they had to import materials from the outside world in order to complete their project. If I wanted to watch people use modern-day materials to create something, I'd go to work. Stick to your composing, bud. No one needs your hostility.

I love the fact that they tried to hide the fact that they are using bricks they didnt make. First of all the line is perfectly straight on these new bricks, the holes go all the way through, and for gods sake they are orange... The termite mound made bricks dont come out lookin like clay bricks. Not to mention the fact that there are like 10 times the amount he made and the amount that would sit in the firing box they made. Edit: Did I miss them doing something or did they just completely ruin the integrity of that pool by lighting that wood underneath it on fire.

Seriously?!? 1) You put rough mud bricks in the oven and took smooth clay bricks out. 2) The holes you put in your mud bricks did not go all the way through, like the clay bricks. 3) When you bake your bricks over an open flame, you get soot/scorch marks. 4) You took out more bricks that you put in.

Cement can be made through limestone as the limestone is calcium carbonate and when heated it becomes calcium oxide which is dry mix as lime and mixed with water calcium hydroxide which is mixed with sand making cement

The mortar is cement that they made from calcinating limestone which creates lime and lime mixed with sand makes cement

You notice how you mentioned “baked some rocks” well if we go back to chemistry then the rocks happened to be limestone which is a rock of calcium carbonate, and when they heated them significantly, they become calcium oxide as all the CO2 was released so whenever it’s in this stage it breaks down as it is (decomposed) allowing it to react with water creating calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) then if they mix it with sand then that would make primitive cement
