What people forget is that at that time alot ...A LOT of people only thought the homosexual community were at risk. This movie provide awareness.

It really is almost exclusive to the homosexual community. It is almost only passed my men as well, as the virus is mainly in blood and semen. Jennifer Vaughn explains with data why this is so. She is an HIV positive woman who got it from a downlow Guy(bisexual) and intravenous drug user.

It's still arguably the fault of homosexuals, though. Telly isn't gay, but he spreads them through his permiscuity which is in the same catagory as homosexuality.

i avoided watching this movie since the late 90s. Finally watched it. I shouldn't have taken so long. It just doesn't hit as hard anymore and it's hard to empatize with everything. Maybe this was exactly like teens acted in NY in the mid 90s but today it really doesn't land.

When I saw this movie it scared me away from wanting to have sex for a while.Knowing she contacted HIV from her boyfriend that was only sleeping with virgin women.
