I decided to fulfill my long-standing dream - to build a cozy house in the mountains. From where the whole valley will be visible to the horizon. I collected the log house on the bank of a small river, where there was a lot of dry wood. Then he took me to the mountains and began to lift one log at a time with ropes to the very top

lol. Take it from a mountain boy. To survive in the mountains you don’t need what these you tube movie stars claim a simply lean to that you can build in a few hours works to. Not many people are looking to survive in the wilderness for long.

Most of these channels are for show anyways, a lot have entire crews doing work with power tools and equipment behind the scenes to get it all done quick enough to keep up with the youtube algorithm. Cut in enough shots of the ‘star’ hacking logs and stacking moss on a roof, and it keeps the viewers entertained. I mainly watch them for the outdoor scenery, and peace and quiet. Get to see some beautiful country i’ll probably never be able to set foot in.
